Great time last night at church. After service we went outside for ice cream. Thanks Sis. Kathleen for all your hard work in planning these special activites for the Faith family. We even had fresh blueberries to put on our ice cream. :) The Wednesday night time is a special time at Faith. The King's Couples group is growing, they are going through a special study on marriage. The teen group is doing well under the leadership of Chris Chesley. Bible Scouts are having a great time. I teach the VBC in the main auditorium, we are presently in a series on Matthew. If you have gotten out of the habit of Wednesday night, why not give it a fresh try? Hope to see you next Wednesday. Sam Wood with Family Fortress Ministries The mission of Family Fortress Ministries is to exhort families in all aspects of family life to passionately fear God and to live according to His Word, so that they will experience the abundance that God desires to bless them with. Sam will be with us all day this Sunday August 19. Our desire at Faith is to strengthen your family and Sam has devoted his life to help strengthen families and marriages. If you would like to learn more about his ministry just follow this link Family Fortress
Sunday night August 26 Jack Knapp will be our special guest. Jack is a representative of the VAIB (Virginia Assembly of Independent Baptists). This organization attempts to keep church informed about decisions made in Richmond by our state government that would impact local churches.
Chris Chesley will begin a new sermon series on Sunday, August 26. He has written a neat story that goes with his sermon series. You can read it at this link. In this two part series Chris will be dealing with breaking the cycle of sin in our lives. Here is a quote from Chris . . .This story is one I wrote in relation to my upcoming 2 part series at church. The series is titled, Breaking the Chains: Ending The Cycle of Sin and Guilt. I start this series at Faith Baptist next Sunday-August 26th, 2007 9:00, and 10:30 AM. The first message is titled "Give Up On Self, Give In To God" I hope to see you FBC readers for the series. Here's a preview for you, and anyone else reading my blog...

*09.09.07*DISCIPLINE = AUTHENTICITY *09.16.07*HOW FAR WILL GOD GO? *09.23.07*IN THE DUNGEON *09.30.07*AVOIDING DISCIPLINE
God makes it clear in His word that He is responsible for His children. This means that He will do whatever is necessary to help them avoid danger. This includes spiritual discipline to correct destructive patterns that He finds in His children. The Bible clearly teaches that He disciplines every child He loves. Could some of the problems you are facing be the result of God*s discipline? How can you avoid future discipline? We hope to answer these and many other questions about God*s discipline in this new sermon series.
