Hey Dave, It makes me think of taking inventory. An interesting exercise that my wife did the other day with her womens group. Each of them took a sheet of paper and wrote on it what they appreciated about one person in the group, then they would pass it to the next person to add their thoughts. At the end, each person had a paper with a comment from every member of the group toward themselves. This was a positive re-enforcement exercise, and left every member feeling a bit more worthwhile. - So, when my wife got home and shared this with me, I thought, "how often have I made such a list/comment to God? What and how much, would I write on the paper to Him? A bit of inventory here. Has God really satisfied me, do I have a long list of things to say positively about Him... or is my list rather short?
Sometimes we cannot answer this truthfully while leaning or longing for other things. Please don't take this as finger pointing or condemnation toward yourself... it is my reaction/addition to what you've shared and the question is more to myself than anyone else. Honestly. R... |
