I prayed for you as I read your blog, Dave.  Being single carries its unique set of struggles, just as being married does.  Both have their advantages, and both bring their down moments.  God has His hand on your life, Dave.  He has rescued you, and He loves you.  I pray for your peace and comfort.  (Have you tried on-line Christian match-maker sites?  Those can be fun, if you don't look at everyone as a potential relationship.  Be up front and honest about who you are, and see who shows an interest.)

Thanks yall, sometimes I'll go for days trying to be what I'm supposed to be, feel what I'm supposed to feel and then occasionally get overwhelmed.  The guys at the house I work at are generally fresh out of jail, and always looking for a chink in the armor of what they percieve as a turn key. Sometimes they succees I know God has a plan for all of us that love him and that we always get what we need to get thru.  Sometimes I'm just closer to crumbling than others.

Hey Dave,

It makes me think of taking inventory.

An interesting exercise that my wife did the other day with her womens group. Each of them took a sheet of paper and wrote on it what they appreciated about one person in the group, then they would pass it to the next person to add their thoughts. At the end, each person had a paper with a comment from every member of the group toward themselves. This was a positive re-enforcement exercise, and left every member feeling a bit more worthwhile.  -  So, when my wife got home and shared this with me, I thought, "how often have I made such a list/comment to God?  What and how much, would I write on the paper to Him?

A bit of inventory here. Has God really satisfied me, do I have a long list of things to say positively about Him... or is my list rather short?

Sometimes we cannot answer this truthfully while leaning or longing for other things. Please don't take this as finger pointing or condemnation toward yourself... it is my reaction/addition to what you've shared and the question is more to myself than anyone else. Honestly.

R...

Good point R a list of blessings is always a good idea.  Sometimes with myself when I become to focused on my shortcomings I can back myself in a corner as well.

Thanks one and all for prayers and comments, today is definately a new day.
