Well I got asked the question the other day so I figured I'd answer it here.
Growing up I was given the nickname Jester by someone. Proof that words have power, they had said that I was funny, and people have been paying for that comment for decades now.
Well when I first got a computer I needed a logon name and jester was already taken, so I went with ksjester (I was living in Kansas at the time hence the KS). Well this site I would go to would freeze up constantly and the only way to get back in was to create a new name. At one point I had over 70 (yes I spent way to much time on the computer in chat rooms).
At that tiime (mid 90's) there was a commercial for Snickers that would run often. It was one of those "Not going anywhere for awhile" ones. This one had a football player get knocked out and the coach came to check on him:
Coach: Where are you?
Player: At the stadium
Coach: What day is it?
Player: Sunday.
Coach: Who are you?
Player: I'm Batman.
Coach: Ok, sit down.
Player: But I'm Batman.
To this day it makes me laugh. I'm sure you could find it on Youtube somewhere. The end has the player jumping around with a cape etc. Well I like comics and it just seemed to fit. I started using the name Batjester as my main login name and it's stuck.
