I would have only one caveat to add to that.  I think sin can also happen when we are overly satisfied with ourselves.

Mike - I wish I desired Him with everything in me; whenever I choose something other than Him its obvious that I don't.  *sigh* 

Norm - I think being overly satisfied with oneself is sin, and that it can lead to other sins.

Right, but I don't think that necessarily falls into the "Being satisfied with God" line.
