My question would be why is she registering her child for school?  Now, keep in mind, I have children in three different situations - I have one in public middle school -- one I homeschool -- and one in Christian (but public) preschool.  So I have them in all situations.

BUT.. usually, people who are on these band wagons refer to public schools as "government schools" and believe that putting your children in public schools is like handing them over to the government to raise.  It's just interesting that she would believe this about social security yet be sending her child to a public school.

Yeah, I think the article is pretty much "over the top". Sounds like the same folks who have determined that rock and roll is Satan worship.

All that said, I do believe that our government creates a comfort in people that leads to a welfare state (entitlement) style of living...not just in Social Security, but in everything from school systems to providing coupons so we can convert our TVs to HD.

13:6
For this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God's service, attending continually upon this very thing. 13:7 Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute `is due'; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

I don't know why this is so hard to understand. This Scripture was written of an equally corrupt (in human terms) government. Do the Dew and pay your Due. There is a price for freedom. Some of our citizens paid in blood, we should happily pay with green backs. After the Hurricane people accepted the government handouts. We like our streets. We enjoy our safety. Don't get me started. PNorm out!

Wow. What an interesting read. I'm with Norm. People love to accept help from our country in times of "desperation", but when they think they have it all under control again, it's back to whatever conspiracy theory is most popular. I'm just going to be bold and say- if you don't like it, no one is making you stay. Geez. Thanks for getting my blood pressure going this morning Kim!
