Super-awesome pictures! I bet if you all had made that ride every day beginning at 2 AM, each morning's pictures would have been different yet equally breathtaking. Couple that with a beautiful couple taking the same type of equally breathtaking pictures of the moon and other nighttime shots around the island all night long, that would be a PERFECT vacation. Just think, no sleep, non-stop, go-go-go, what's next, ahhhhhh...

Besides the early English spellers messed up on the spelling of vacation. It was supposed to be spelled:

V-A-A-C-T-I-O-N which is a pseudo-wordanym meaning Very Active ACTION!

Welcome back! Now you two can take a rest and get back to thinking about MyChurch.

I'd better shut up now. All of this uber-deep grammatical philosophical grey-matter thinking this early in the morning before I finish my second cup of coffee is gonna be cause for me to sleep the rest of the day.

Missed y'all!

Carebear, beautiful pics.  My husband and I are planning a trip to Hawaii next year for our 25th wedding anniversary.  I have never been there, and am looking forward to it.

What islands did you go to, Carol?  I used to live on Oahu back in the day; haven't been back since we moved away in '77, even though my brother still lives there.  Cool pics!

I love sunrises and sunsets and other natural wonders in the sky! Thanks for sharing.

A friend shared a unique sunrise photo with me and I posted it here if anyone is interested. There's a nice surprise in the center!

Some pics, Carebear!  Haven't ridden down that "hill" in all my years, but had great experiences seeing the sunrise.  Like the time I was 5 y.o., ate weird cookies at 4:30am, then puked it all in the observation house.

The side benefit was my grandmother then fed me Popsicles for the rest of the trip!

Did you dare to touch the brake pads at the bottom??? :)

P.S.  Isn't it funny how those marvelous pics are somewhat reminiscent of San Francisco?

Nice pix.  I would love to try that ride, but doubt I'll be in Hawaii any time soon.
God does give us a fresh start and your photos of a new day dawning do remind us of that.  Thanks for sharing them.

Thank you all for the nice comments.  What was a spectacular sunrise (or lack thereof), was followed by an even more spectacular ride down the volcanoe.  Unfortunately those pictures didn't come out.  But yes.. the bike ride was more about braking then peddling :).  Thanks for pointing that one aj..

As promised.. I'll be posting about our vacation soon, as well as what I've been up to.  Just taking a moment to catch my breath :)
