v.1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.---It doesn’t get any better or plainer than that. God’s trademark is stamped on the earth. It all belongs to him. Evidently some men (if not all) need a little reminder every now and then. The earth is the Lord’s. It doesn’t belong to anyone else no matter how much power or possessions they think they wield. They will one day helplessly cling to that which they can’t take with them. The world itself and all who live in it belong to God. He may do as He sees fit to do with this place and the people occupying it.
