| My Eraser Parable |
|
| |
Here is another parable please let me know what you think. I am still kind of shy about sharing them. Here we go.
I am sure we can all remember using pencils in school . The reason being that any mistakes we made could be easily corrected. Of course being the rebel I was in early school years I always used a pen. Now a pen is very unforgiving when a mistake is made it can only be covered up, but with a pencil an eraser can be used to correct any mistakes. Think back to when you used that eraser in school the impression of the mistake is still there to on the paper to remind us so we don’t make the same mistake twice. The goal is to improve.
God ‘s forgiveness is a lot like an eraser, the gift He gives us doesn’t wipe the slate clean. All of our actions good or bad still leave there mark on us, we don’t forget what we have experienced. This is not to punish us or cause bad feelings, rather God let‘s us remember to give us another chance to get it right. There are no three strikes with our Father. Like I always say if we ever forget where we come from we risk going back. When the last chapter of my life is written I would rather look back and see a thousand of God’s eraser marks then one of Satan’s cover ups .
From Patrick a servant of God chosen to be an apostle of Jesus Christ.

Good point Patrirck. God's forgiveness means those mistakes do not count against us as far as our final grade (perfectly righteous), exactly like the eraser takes those wrong answers out of consideration in the final grading of the paper. However the shadow of our former mistakes always stays with us, whether on paper or in our heart, as a reminder of our previous "solutions".
(We do have a brain that stores info, and the only way to erase that info is to have a labotomy. I don't believe God actually "forgets" either, that sounds ludicrous. Instead I think he intentionally puts all the stuff he's forgiven out of his mind as the judgment is rendered....righteous!)
Well, those are my thoughts on it. Hope to hear others. ~mike |

Great! A new way to see my past forgiven mistakes... as God's eraser marks. I like it!!!! ;-)
By the way, He very well can totally erase the marks as if they were never there, but I am happy that He allows me to look back and see those marks. Now I can see them as victory marks, instead of failure marks.
Thank you Apostle P Lourdes ;-) |
