About 18 months ago, my cousin, Jayme, was injured in a one car accident. She swerved to miss a dead deer laying in the center of the road. She lost control of her car, went down an embankment and crashed into a tree. She got some bumps and scrapes, but her biggest injury was her foot and ankle. She had broken it in 3 or 4 different places. She has been through a few surgeries to make her foot better, but to no avail. As I said, it has been 18 months since the accident and now, after a few surgeries, the doctors are talking about amputation. My cousin is in pain constantly and she is seriously considering the amputation. The doctor spoke with her and reminded her that she has a daughter that she needs to be able to take care of and my cousin told her doctor that she can't take care of her daughter properly now because of all the pain that she is in. My cousin will see a psychiatrist soon to make sure that she wants to go through with the amputation.
