| A Powerful Sunday |

Besides just plain being real happy to be with fellow like minded believers after a week of being questioned and insulted by a bunch of fellow addicts fresh out of jail. Our Pastor had an awsome powerful message this morning. I don't remember seeing him fired up like he was this morning. He spoke about well I don't know what he was speaking about I just know what I heard.
The bulk of the Text was from Genisis 37 and 39. I was getting a lot of discerning God's will and hearing his voice. 12:2 And let not your behaviour be like that of this world, but be changed and made new in mind, so that by experience you may have knowledge of the good and pleasing and complete purpose of God. 12:3 But I say to every one of you, through the grace given to me, not to have an over-high opinion of himself, but to have wise thoughts, as God has given to every one a measure of faith. Of course this is difficult the way the media bombards us with the values of this world. When's the last time anyone on TV let a little thing like marriage stop them from hopping in bed? There was a reference to a movie in which a lady was married to a fellow who was cold hearted, but followed her heart (awwww) and hooked up with a much nicer guy. The pastor's point was hey this is still adultry. I don't want to date myself but has anyone noticed that George Carlton's seven things you can't say on TV are no problem these days.
The Soprano's are pretty lovable unless you have a problem with Rape, Pillaging, and Murder. 2:10 For anyone who keeps all the law, but makes a slip in one point, is judged to have gone against it all. 2:11 For he who said, Do not be untrue in married life, is the same who said, Put no man to death. Now if you are not untrue in married life, but you put a man to death, the law is broken. So we take prayer out of school because of the sensibilities of the athiest, and suddenly we wonder how Columbine can happen. Oh well lets all have a fun weekend, this may be some alarmist stuff, but I think we gotta be cautious what with the devil prowling around like a roaring lion and all. |
