| Why am I Fighting You? |

Why Am I Fighting You? Ezekiel 7:14 They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath [is] upon all the multitude thereof. Ezekiel 7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity.
When we rebel against the will and commandments of God, we find ourselves involved in combat with the divine. Combat you say. Going against Gods will for our lives and the commandments He has put in place, we are involved in ourselves in a war with Him. Upon reading this text, I asked myself, "Why am I fighting You?"
In all of our pasts, we have seen God's victories, both on paper and in person. We have born witness to the many last place finishers in the ring. We have watched in amazement as we have seen the fall from grace of the willing combatants that have dared to spare with you, become disillusioned, and then step into the ring with you.
We have seen the medics attending to them, watched the referee counting them out, watched them shake in fiend-like conditions, watched them walk the streets in search for the next conquest, finding themselves on a bed sick with a disease, seen them hauled off to jail merchandise still in the bag, watched the marriage fall apart from the lovers they have had, watched their prosperity divided in half. We have seen the results of those who fight against your law and will, but yet I ask myself "Why am I fighting You?"
We know that you have not lost a battle. We know that you are all powerful. We know that you are the conqueror. We know that vengeance is yours. We know that you have all resources and that wisdom comes from you. We know all of this, and yet we have to ask ourselves, "Why are we fighting You?"
Is it somehow that we are still believe somehow that the fruit from the trees that we sample are better for us than the fruit that you provide? Is it that we feel like we are missing out on the adventure or some lesson or wisdom that comes along with the experience? Is it that we still have doubt as to whether righteousness is truly the way?
The truth is that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, and we are your children, thus, from time to time, foolishness floats to the surface, and the rod of correction must beat it out of us. Painful as it is, its just reality. Even us grown folks experience our own rod, and honestly, its very much deserved. All the things that we have and cherish are yours. All the things we have acquired are yours. All the things we have been given are yours.
Please forgive us.
All the training that we have is useless against you. All the money we have is useless against you. All the degrees we have acquired are useless against you. All the friends we have in our corner are useless against you.
Truly the blessings of the Lord bringeth no sorrow, but if we loose sight of the one that has provided the blessings, they can bring wrath. I desire not your wrath. I need not experience your hand against me. I need not see your face turned from me. I need you, and more of you than I already have. You are the one resource that I can never get enough of.
"Why ye fightest Thee?", the old writers might have blogged. I'm really not sure. I guess we are all glutens for punishment.

Pastor Johnny
The only way I can answer this is by telling you about me and why I did it and in some areas in my life I'm still doing it, I'm am today thank our God for change. God wants us to lean on him in every aspect of our life, but I (WE) feel and that the I can do this is way, let me tell you Pastor I did & it does not work not for me, always wanting to things my way.. The word Feelings is a big hindrance to our walking in God's will, we should be walking like Jesus, Galatians 5: The word so ties in with verses 13-15. The strategy for removing the divisiveness that marred the Galatian church was to live according to the new life given to them by the Holy Spirit. God sent the Holy Spirit to be with and within his followers after Christ had returned to heaven (see John 14–16). The phrase conveys the meaning of the literal translation “by the Spirit keep on walking.” Walking means “living” in this context, and it emphasizes the moment-by-moment contact with and guidance by the Holy Spirit for daily decisions and activities. Living “according to the Spirit” should be a daily, continuous action by Christians. He is always present, but we must be in touch with him and stay open to his guidance and correction. The result? You won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. When we become believers, our sinful nature still exists. But God asks us to place our sinful nature under the control of the Holy Spirit so that he can transform it. This is a supernatural process. We must never underestimate the power of our sinful nature, and we must never attempt to fight it in our own strength. Satan is a crafty tempter, and we have a limitless ability to make excuses. Instead of trying to overcome sin by our own willpower, we must take advantage of the tremendous power of Christ. God provides for victory over our sinful nature—he sends the Holy Spirit to live in us and give us power. But our ability to restrain the desires of the sinful nature depends on how much we’re willing to “live according to” the Holy Spirit. For each believer, this daily process requires moment-by-moment decisions.
Fear is anothre reason we are not walking in God's will and why we are fighting ll Tomothy 1: 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The onlt thing we should be fighting is the good fight of faith l Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Hose 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
The ten commanments is the road map to holy living God;s way. Thee will not my will |

Thanks much. I really am living out the scriptures that God places at my grasp. I felt this scripture very passionately, because I felt a decision I made had hindered my business. You know, some times we can get caught up in our own training and ability, and forget that it is the gifts and annointing that God places on us that allows us to do what we do. The rough part is that our decisions as heads of homes affect the entire house. I have to continue pressing, as we all do, to completely yeild each aspect of my life to God, knowing that it is all in His perfect will. At the end of the day, whether financially prosperous, or financially feable, having God in controll is the best end to a stressfull and tough day.
When we make decisions in any walk or situation that is not lead by the spirit, the results are the same :). They, even though beneficial at times, are not in our favor, because they are not given of the Lord and are outside of His will. Learning to wait is tough, but it is something we don't have a choice in. Keep me in your prayers, I feel that God is going to do something awesome in our life. All we have to do is wait on Him, and not move without Him, because this is fighting against Him, which is fighting against ourselves. Johnny O |
