2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. “I’m free to do what I want any ol’ time”, remember that song from rolling stones. But is it true? A friend gave me a definition of freedom that states “freedom is the ability to do what ever you want as long as it doesn’t conflict with the interest of someone else”. My reply was “man that’s really sad, because that completely summed up bondage” Everything we do in this life in one way shape or another will always conflict with the interest of somebody else (my example would be a marriage). Yet in Christ, we’re set free, because Christ reigns in our hearts through the spirit of Love. Love gives you the ability to put others first, to think of others first, Paul says of Love it is the more excellent way, bigger than speaking in tongues, prophesying, and healing combined. 1 Corinthians 12:31 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way. I Corinthians 13:1 though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. With the Love of Christ, we’re now free from the life of bondage. We’re free to love our spouses the way we should, free to love our kids the way we should, our parents the way we should. The way we shouldn’t is to put our selfish needs before their needs. We no longer need to sit under the bondage of drugs, we can have the power to not do them. Where the devil tells us “don’t follow Christ because you’ll be all bound up” God tells us we need Jesus because we’re all ready bound and need to be set free. The greatest enemy to God’s truths is ourselves; so many times we’ll say “I don’t know why I do this or that” or “I wish I wasn’t this way”. And Jesus, loving us so much said “ye must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven” (John 3:3) There is only one answer to ridding ourselves of ourselves and that’s the born again experience, to be born from above, life’s most set freeing experience that we will ever have, we can simply crucify the wretched man with Christ, and be raised again to a newness of life. If you need a fresh start simply tell God that your sorry, confess that you have sinned, and have fallen short of the mark of perfection, and that the penalty of your disobedience is death, but paying the price for your sins, Jesus died, and rose again and sits on the right hand of God's throne, and you desire that He now sit on the throne of your life! If you prayed that prayer for the first time, or the first time in a long time, tell somebody that you know has been waiting to hear those words from you…if you’d like you may even write to me and I’ll pray for you. In my opinion the information left in this blog comment was misleading, and misguided.

Its misleading because the blog has nothing to do with tithes and offerings.

Unfortunately, they were misguided...

I will address the tithes issue.... livestock etc was a form of monetary value...when cain and able made an offering to the lord, Able offered his livestock, cain was a tiller of the land. What they earned they gave back to God. Cain's offering wasn't accepted because it wasn't an act of faith. Anything we do as an act of faith is acceptable unto the Lord... Its not about what you give its about how you give it... if you give to the lord a speck of dust and your heart is in the right place the Lord will accept it. Hebrews 11:4

As for Jacob, Jacob was in the flesh, when his name is changed to Israel, he operated in the spirit...Israel means Ruled by God Ge 32:28, Jacob wasn't ruled by God yet, so his spirit prior to conversio n was in rebelllion towards God. (Jacob means Supplanter Ge 25:26)

The Bible says Jesus is our High Priest, and In Christ we are a royal priesthood a chosen generation I Peter 2:9
