I'M GLAD TO SEE SOME FOLKS MUST BE CELEBRATING THE ARMENIAN CHURCH CALENDAR FOR CHRISTMAS 3 WEEKS AFTER THE WESTERN CELEBRATION. I THINK THE UNIQUE ASPECT OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC IS THE FOCUS ON THE INCARNATION - THE ENFLESHING - OF GOD IN CHRIST. THIS IS A KEY THEOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVE OF CHRISTIANITY. IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Well I am adopted, but I hadn't considered the fact that I might be Armenian. (I might be, I don't know.) Getting one's head around the fact that God predestined that His Son would come down and become man and then die for us (even though man continue to screw up royally) is something that takes more than a season to get your head around (and therefore seems like something to celebrate more than during the season. :) ).
