Jack, the Lord ministered that very thing to me a few years ago... In fact you practically quoted what He said. Truth is...we are a body, but joined by His Spirit, and this mega system that has been rolling for centuries truthfully is not it. Think about this: Paul and Peter fought about what? "The Law," and if you really read the epistles and Pauls continued rebukes and concerns, it wouls seem that many of the disciples sort of returned to following the law. Paul, by Gods grace had a divine revelation of this, and hence he sure seemed to spend a lot of time sharing it in all his letters, particularly in Romans and Galatians. Interesting to note: Peter stayed in Rome, and we all know what resurrected there... (Why did he repent prior to his death? Do you know? ) Anyway, Paul went on and the greatest explosion of Gods presence happened with him. Also, do you not find it a bit strange that the Roman Catholic Church bases their doctrine on the belief that Peter was the first pope set in office by Christ himself, and for the real clincher.. at least this is a very brief re-cap of what has come to me over the years... Protestantism, and every sect of Christian "religion" historically branched off from the Catholic church. Now, my question is this: If the RCC is not what Christ had in mind, then indeed it is a MIXTURE, and we all know how much Go enjoys mixture. If it is mixed and filled with falsehoods, then all religion, or anything that has been birthed out of that (even if in a rebellion to that) is most likely tainted. God wants a relationship, and wants to manifest His presence through us individually and corporately, but I don't believe the expression we call the "Church" today is anything close to what He had in mind. You are right... It takes the Spirit to recognize boy Babylon and the Church, and an understanding that this really is not about anything physical or structural. AMEN!
