UPDATE keeping the Faith family in the loop

Many of you have heard about my daughter in-law Kathy. Who suddenly found herself unable to speak. A blood clot was discovered to be the cause and it had settled in the area of her brain that affects speech. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayer and concern. The faculty at Appalachian Bible College was praying, Billy Graham's radio station in North Carolina was praying and the ladies who were going to give Kathy a baby shower the night of the episode still gathered and prayed for Kathy.
I am glad to report that Kathy is now home from the hospital and doing much better. Please continue to pray for her as she has to undergo therapy for her speech. She has made great progress in the last few days. Pray that she will have the strength to go through the trips to the therapist as well as continuing to care for two small boys, Luke is just a few weeks old. The doctor said that Kathy should make a full recovery in six months or less. Pray for this family as they weather this storm in their life. Thank you again for all your prayers, calls and cards.
This is Forest Baptist Church in Lynchburg VA. It is the church that my son Robbie and family attend. I was overwhelmed as I saw the outpouring of love from this church to my son's family during their medical crisis with Kathy. It was neat to see the Body Christ function the way God intended. Calls, child care, visits, meals and the list could go on and on. I don't know how people without a church family make it through the rough spots in life. I praise God for this great church and pastor and the love they showed to my son and his family. 6:2 Take on yourselves one another's troubles, and so keep the law of Christ.
GOD'S WOODSHED "In The Dungeon" is the title of this week's sermon in our series on God's discipline. We are going to take a look at those times in our lives in which we don't enjoy fellowship with God and experience the results of our sin. There are many characters in the Bible that spent time in a spiritual dungeon. This week we are going to focus on David and the year he spend, after his sin with Bathsheba, before he turned back to God. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide them. I said to myself, "I will confess my rebellion to the Lord." And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. (David mourns, with Joab in the background - a portrait by Guy Rowe.)
It is not too late to sign up for our membership class coming this Sunday (9.23.07). This 4 hour class will cover what we believe as a church and take a look at our "DNA". No obligation, after taking the class if you decide Faith is not the place for you there is no pressure to join. We want to give you as much info as possible when making this important decision. 8 AM SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS THIS SUNDAY! Harry Newman is starting a new class at a new time. He will be teaching on the subject of Heaven. Plan to be a part of history as Harry begins this new study.
Joey Jones with Gideon International will be our guest speaker Sunday Night at 6 PM.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND HOPE TO SEE YOU AT CHURCH SUNDAY
