Good blog Jeremy! I love your heart!

Although we would all love it if universal salvation were true, it simply isn't. If it were, the "whosoever believeth in him" in John 3:16 would be meaningless. Along with many other passages of scripture which assert the importance of believing in the Son. I post this not to confront, or debate, but simply to counter. If left uncountered, some youthful readers might read and assume that the uncontested assertion means universal salvation is true, and therefore possibly loosing their grip on Christ, or maybe even bypassing the Lord altogether, since belief becomes of far less consequence. This would be profoundly tragic.

Well I never thought that this blog would present itself to bring out the different viewpoints of mankind.  I will however reply that through my experience with Christ and through reading the Bible, I can not believe that there is "universal salvation".  True that every knee will bow and confess that Jesus is Lord; however not all that say Lord will enter into the kingdom of Heaven.  God's vision was that mankind could dwell with Him and fellowship with Him for all of eternity.  Through the fall of mankind and sin, Satan thought that he had destroyed God's vision; however God had a plan of salvation....His son....Jesus.  Satan didn't destroy the vision of God because Christ lived it and encouraged us to live it; however there are consequences if we do not choose to live for this vision and to accept the love of Christ....and this is everlasting damnation.  Or in other words...eternity without God.  And even though they may call Christ "Lord" in the end, it doesnt mean that they will spend eternity with Him...or in other words...be part of the vision of Love that God has.
