| What He Couldn't Do |
|
| |
I know everyone here believes that Jesus can do anything. Why not believe this; Jesus lived His life performing countless miracles among the people and He is still performing miracles in each of our lives today. I like to think of Jesus as my supreme super-hero, able to leap tall buildings or calm the sea with just the power of His voice. Its funny, but I sometimes imagine what it would be like if Jesus and me were hanging out here on earth these days. We’d go around healing folks all over town; and He could even pray for the strip clubs and bars to burn down and it would be done! He could help me fix the transmission on my truck just by laying hands on it. He could help me look better on the beach by just speaking it into existence. I’d even bet that he could flawlessly perform any and all of wrestling’s most signature finishing moves without even studying them. I’d take Him to Graceland, and He’d tell me stories about the one He’s prepared for me. We could eat all the hamburgers we wanted and not worry about gaining weight cause He would be the one blessing the meal. It’s nice to think about all the things that Jesus can do, but I found myself wondering if there’s anything He can’t do. Then I discovered a couple things… You see, Jesus couldn’t avoid being emotionally moved by such things as pain, need, and suffering in our lives. Upon the cross, He could have called the angels to come to his rescue; yet He couldn’t leave this lost and dying world in it’s current condition, and chose to give His life for each of us. To sum it all up, Jesus couldn’t help but loves us. Though I’m thankful for all He has, will, and can do; I think I’m most thankful for what He couldn’t do. Love to all, Rich |

This is my first time giving a star....not because I haven't read star material, but because I didn't know how to give them or what a star really meant.....I agree with JayKTX.....clever writing and good theology....I would add one more thing He cannot do.....or will not do......He will not override our wills.....He lets us be free moral agents......wants us to choose freely....from our hearts. Wow, thanks to everybody for the comments on this one (and the stars!) I didn't really expect this much response cause I really didn't have to put allot into it. It was just a little something that me and the Lord shared and I figured I'd write it down while it was fresh.
Thanks again! |

Yes! I've often heard this said: Jesus called Lazarus by name because if He said only "Come Forth," ALL the dead would rise! |

I would ask Jesus to take me to Iran to stop the war and make peace all over the word if I was hunging out with him today in the flesh and bring our men & women home. |
