You never know what kids will say. Tonight, at the dance studio, every child or parent who sat still long enough heard my children's memory verses for the week. This was memorized work, and they have all 4 gotten them all right, so far. But, last week, we took a museum science class with other homeschoolers. My youngest, who has a slight autism, couldn't pay attention to the Wetland teacher because the heat lamp was on a snake, and he was moving around because he was warm and smelled lots of people. My thinking, $10.00 wasted. The teacher gave the kids a brine shrimp project to take home and hatch. Do the math - I just paid $40.00 for SEA MONKEYS! (Only a homeschooler would do this - LOL!!) So, immediately following the class, I had to work. We took our brine shrimp to the studio. My youngest, David, who couldn't pay attention for one second, led the pack. They educated every parent and child about the Wetlands, the animals there, and their adaptations. So, just sitting there, not paying attention, he was able to recall every bit of information - especially the reptile facts! Hmmm... what are we absorbing?? |
