As Christians, we arexpected to be perfect, by non-believers. It is days like today that I'm not so sure if I want the non-believers to see me. Can I staay in control?
We have a homeschool class scheduled at my house at 1:00. Homeschoolers are not the best planners, preferring to live our lives relaxed, and taking various opportunities, which may present themselves without notice... blah,, blah, blah... Ok, so we use homeschooling to relax our lives and give us flexibility to teach when the opportunities arise, not just between 8 and 3! (some would debate me on this, but I've not lost a homeschool debate, yet, as my big brother Jesus, is my lawyer and partner - he's got my back)
So, this class is scheduled, and the house is not perfect (7 kids, wonder why), all our lessons are not done (homeschooling 4, wonder why), and a child just got sick - yes, he made it to the bathroom first! I realized I did not get phone numbers to call students in case of change of plan. The twins are reading my 10 yr old's diary. And the cats were fighting, knocking me into the corner of the table - nice bruise! 5:3 And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness; 5:4 and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope: So, far, I have been able to show my children that I am not losing control and am walking in the spirit. I *DO* want to kill the cat, but have refrained from doing so. I also have not raised my voice ... yet... trying not to. 21:19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman. The oldest son living at home just popped his head in the door to tell me that his company is having an illegal boat race with all the competitors and he's driving. My oldest daughter has stuck me and her dad with about $14,000 in debt, because we were trying to get her started in her life and on her feet, with promises of paying us back... 1:2 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; 1:3 Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. Now, I have just seen a bank and a cell phone company, who never removed charges in the past, remove $1000 from accounts! I have had money supernaturally stretch and/or appear in our lives. I have also prayed rather specifically for a vehicle to be given to me, and received exactly what I prayed for. I know my God is able. I also know He will resolve or show me how to resolve each of these issues, as long as I walk in faith and not lose control. *I* must not lose control and stay in faith. *deep breath* So here goes... with all my heart, for Jesus, facing my day with patience? |
