Happy New "Fiscal" Year! As far as the Army & U.S. Government are concerned . . . this is the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008. Can you believe it?
Well, I started out the FY right with an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The test comprises three events - Push Ups, Sit Ups, and a Two Mile run. The only problem . . . I'm more than 1 mile high (altitude), and the pollution is horrific. Oh well, I max the Push Ups and Sit Ups with relative ease . . . but it's that darn run. I don't know what it is, but my body (or rather age and mileage) must be catching up with me. So, I'm only able to score 283 out of a possible 300 points. A little bit of an ego blast since I used to be a 300+ bubba.
Hey, I should be grateful to the Lord! I can still run, ruck, and jump . . . out of Airplanes (that is). How many 43 year old bubba's can do that? Hooah!
I had a great day at the Chapel yesterday as we continued in our theme of Spiritual Battle Hardening (focusing on Ephesians 6 - the Armor of God). I was able to preach on "The Breastplate of Righteousness" with the Text from Matthew 5:6, 10-20. God is good and His divine provision, mercy, and unmerited grace are never ceasing and without end!
God's Richest Blessings from your "All American" Deputy Division Chaplain - proudly serving with America's Best and Brightest!
