1:5 And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1:7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. As I sat down at the library to read a few BLOGs and compare different translations of Psalms on the Bible Gateway thingy. A young mom sitting at a nearby terminal got asked to leave cause her infant decided to start crying. I don't know if it was a Single mom or a young married mom she was just a young mom who's infant decided to make noice as infants do.
Then I started to think about a time I was sitting out side a laundry mat in Eau Claire Wisconsin, I was waiting for the spin cycle to quit spinning, and drinking some wiskey and smoking a joint. I saw a bunch of tidy looking people going into a church in my rear view mirror. I remember saying to myself that God probably does love those people but I was a mess.
This was in the mid '80's and I did manage to kick the dope but I found myself in NA for quite some time feeling that the folks in NA would accept me but inside I was still dying. In 2000 having been clean for a litle over ten years, having had my ex wife leave me for a new Cyber boyfriend, in a new Cyber town I called every church in Terre Haute and said if you can explain this &*^%$^ Jesus thing to me I'd sure appreciate it. I guess I wasn't ready yet. But I started looking.
Come to find out having gone through a few different churches and there are quite a few variations on the Gospel. But I found a church that don't flinch to much at us Messy Christians. which is good because we Sinners can be a mess. But after a while it occured to me that wrecks like me are just what Jesus was looking for. Long story short if it werent for the love of my fellow Christians I'd still be a lot messier. |

| That's right, Dave. We'd all be such bigger messes and in such bigger messes if it weren't for Christ! My friend Margaret likes to remind people that life is messy. (She's the pastor's wife, so she's seen her share of messy lives.) :-) |

| Dave, I too am a mess. I suppose my messes just aren't as obvious. But believe me, they're messy. You are not alone! |

We do serve a gtreat God, aigh, bro.! Jesus loves us nomatter what, we came to save the needy, messy folk who knows that we need Him! He gave me a scripture to read the other night. It was Psalms 19, but I really like v. 13 19:13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous `sins'; Let them not have dominion over me: Then shall I be upright, And I shall be clear from great transgression. God is so good to us!!! and also v.12 19:12 Who can discern `his' errors? Clear thou me from hidden `faults'. Thank You Jesus for forgiveing me for sins i'm not even aware of. |

| Amen! It is not the healthy who need a physician. Isn't it awesome to look back at the way we were and see what the Lord has done? |

Amen to all, God has chosen each of us in our messiness and he is sufficient to clean us completely, we just don't see the completion until we are face to face. peace |

Good blog, Dave! God is still working on us all!
1:6 And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

| So far as I can tell I like the NLT but it's harder to memorize for some reason. |
