Hang in there, just the fact that you are acknowledging these problem areas and how you are struggling is a sign that the Holy Spirit is at work within you.  You are not alone, and as you begin to open up with the brethren in your church you will meet people who have similar testimonies.  As for smoking - Congratulations!!!  I quit 2 years ago with God's help. Blessings to you Brother!

Sometimes the Master should just reach down and slap the beJesus out of us

Thanks Prue Thanks Trinity. If the master slapped the whatever out of us every time we deserved it we never would have lived this long.
3:19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Dave,
Keep in the WORD, keep in church, keep being involved & obedient to God.  You have been a blessing just to see you taking part in the different things we have going on at church like the prayer meetings & I would imagine you were at the men's Thurs. morning and of course at chruch on Sundays and also the Seminars.  Did you get into the process group at Sharon & Bill Adams or have you gotten into one of the cell groups?
Continue letting the WORD of God speak to you.  I know that with myself - God is always working on me about something.  Must be that we can improve all the time and will yet never be perfect.  One thing I need to do more of is to spend more 1 on 1 time with the Lord and also to let him do more talking so I can do more listening.  (hearing from God) I usually don't have any trouble talking.  It is the being quiet that is hardest for me.
We all need to pray more for each other and encourage one another in the Lord.
See you at church.
June A.

I have to thank one and all for your comments and support.  For some reason I find that if I start with being transparent with my posts, it makes it easier to be tranparent with all my brothers and sisters.  I just know it's essential not to be keeping things to myself.
