Last night around 7 pm I decided to run to the grocery store. While driving down my road, which is 40 mph, I was driving past an auto junk yard on the left and on the right are small rental homes that my kids always called the "crack houses" because for years drugs ran out of a few of them.
It was pitch black and I saw a movement to my left. It was a large dog crossing right in front of my van. The dog froze in the head lights and I couldn't turn to the right because of trees. I slammed on the brakes and braced myself because I could see I was not going to be able to stop. I felt the dog under my van and heard the cry from the dog. I cried out, Lord please!
I just sat there in the middle of the road not knowing what I should do and I saw the dog run between those houses. I put on my flashers and pulled into the drive on the house. I was really scared because of the location. A man came running over from one of the houses asking if I was alright.and the man came out of the other house. I told them what happened and the first man said I have a dog like that. He walked over and said his dog seemed fine. The other man said, he had a small dog. I asked them to walk behind the house because I knew that dog had to have serious injuries.
By that time, my husband had come down the street and saw my van. We walked over and looked at the man's dog. It was the dog I hit and she was fine.
God had to have protected that dog because I heard and felt that dog under my van. I even looked for dents on my van and there wasn't any. The two men were amazed that I even bothered to stop. I told them I couldn't just leave an injured animal. Maybe God will allow me to witness to them some other time.
God is so good, He even protects the animals.
