| You Don't Have to Pray for Your Needs |

I thought I would write a word or two on prayers. No, you don't have to pray for your needs! Our heavenly Father is aware of our needs before we ask! You don't have to pray for food, clothes, or any other need for God already knows your needs! You may pray for a new car, maybe a BMW, but God may give you a good used 1965 VW. ( GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN)
Mat.6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat.6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat. 6:9 Begin at this verse for an example of how Jesus told them to pray. Here you will find the Lord's Prayer.
It amazes me what some people ask in prayer. I was at a high school football game one night and our team was behind. One of the opposing teams players was racking up the points. This player was running the ball, he was hit hard, and had to leave the game. This lady in front of me turned around to one of her friends and said, "I was praying that he would be hurt and leave the game". She was actually rejoiceing and believing God had answered her prayer. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? GOD FORGIVE HER!!!
Mat.6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat.6:32 (For all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat.6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
IT IS YOUR NEEDS THAT GOD SUPPLIES, NOT YOUR WANTS!
PRAYER IS GOOD, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO PRAY FOR YOUR NEEDS!
At this point, I would like to add a verse from Romans: Chap.8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
