| PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM--PSALM 122:6 |
|
| |

Yerushalayim is Hebrew for Jerusalem. The beginning word, 'SHA-ALU' means 'TO ASK', that is, ask The Owner, Protector and Redeemer of The City of Jerusalem, that He would bring Shalom (Peace) to the Place, the People, through The Prince of Peace, Yeshua, (Our LORD Jesus Christ) !
Why should you "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", and what benefit is there in so doing ? First of all as we complete the reading of Psalm 122:6, we find that The LORD has promised, that (you and I) shall "prosper" that love thee (Jerusalem).
The Hebrew word for 'Prosper' is SHALAV ( to be at rest ) !!!
How marvelous is our recompense as we 'faithfully' remember to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem".
WE WILL BE AT REST
Some misguided people actually pray for the peace of Jerusalem, thinking that they will 'PROSPER' in areas other than being at 'rest', that is, perhaps, financially, economically, materially, etc., and when they don't, they STOP praying for the peace of Jerusalem, and sometimes they even are bitter at The LORD and His Word, to the extent of becoming demeaning towards Jerusalem, Israel.* Yahschild note: I believe this is the central meaning of this, however, I also believe we can be BLESSED any time in any way our loving Creator sees fit--for any reason. But, this explanation is the central meaning of the verse.
The old ad used to say that you don’t have to be Jewish to love Levy’s Jewish rye bread. Well, surely, you don’t have to be an ardent pro-Israel activist to be troubled by the unjust treatment of Israel. All it takes is a capacity for outrage that things like this are going on before our very eyes.
By REV. ELIAS E. HIDALGO, Ph.D.
We are told that 'SOME' of the natural branches of the good olive tree were broken off, because of unbelief; and, that 'SOME' of the wild branches, from the wild olive tree, were grafted into the good olive tree, even though, this is contrary to nature itself What this means, is that in the grafting process which we are knowledgeable of, at least in nature; one always grafts a branch of the best, into a tree that is not as pure in essence, so that the tree will be better off for having received, a better and stronger branch. Not so, as we read in Romans, chapter 11, the wild, or least in favour, is grafted, contrary to all principles, but GOD, desires it to be this way, as a reminder that, His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways. One thing that needs to be remembered, especially by Gentile-Christians, is not 'ALL' of the natural branches were broken off, after all, think of all the saints recorded in both The Old and New Testament, almost in totality, they were Jewish, and they are branches from the good olive tree.
You as a Gentile-Believer in The Jewish Messiah, have the responsibility today, to love and to witness of GOD's Grace freely given to you , through the Jewish prophets and apostles; I urge you to give back to them (the Jewish people), GOD's plan of peace and Eternal Life , thusly you 'will be blessed'. May The LORD grant you WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, AND KNOWLEDGE in so doing.
122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
SHALOM (PEACE) ! ! !

122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Sorry it took me awhile to respond to your comment, MaKelly. Thank you for praying for Jerusalem and for your thoughtfulness to leave a star and a nice comment to my blog. Jerusalem is very meaningful to Christians, Jews, and Muslims. This marvelous place is special to our Creator and Spiritual Father, special enough, that it's written in the scriptures to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem". It's in Psalm 122:6. During this time many people do think of the Saviour and celebrate His birth. What a wonderful time to consciously PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! Thank you, MaKelly, for being in agreement. |
