| Getting our own church on board... |

We thought this would be a given. Having our own church use our service is a no-brainer... for us and them.
But before we talked to our pastors last May, a fellow River goer was quietly brewing a social network for his masters thesis at San Jose State. For over a year. The River then launched The Reef in June as we were still working on our Alpha version.
We don't want to step on any one's toes at The River. Cary put more than a year's work into his resource-sharing community. It doesn't have nearly the number of features as MyChurch, and as any home brewed solution running off the backs of volunteers - its got bugs and usability issues. But Pastor Jim is going to connect us to Cary, and hopefully we can work together somehow.
Carol and I need to go to a church that uses our software. It just has to happen. We need to hear direct input from users, pastors, and moderators. But I don't think we'll leave the River if they don't massively use it.
In our arrogance, we assumed The River would be our first adapter. But thats what happens when we're not well-plugged in with the leaders of a 700-member church. Sigh... pray that we can salvage some sort of integration with what they are currently using.
