In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.
We should not say that we are doing God a favor when we offer our 10% on Sunday. God said that He is the creator of all. How can you offer a sacrifice, which does not belong to you, unto the creator and expect salvation; the blood that you shed on the altar was not yours to sacrifice.
50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I [am] God, [even] thy God. 50:8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, [to have been] continually before me. 50:9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, [nor] he goats out of thy folds. 50:10 For every beast of the forest [is] mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills. 50:11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field [are] mine. If God were hungry he would not call on man. And He ends his speech by telling us that we can call on Him in our day of trouble: He will deliver us and we will glofiy him.
50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world [is] mine, and the fulness thereof. 50:13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Many times God seems silent as if He is condoning sin. Don't be fooled; YOUR sacrafice offering does not wipe away your sin.
50:16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or [that] thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? 50:17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. 50:18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. 50:19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. 50:20 Thou sittest [and] speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. 50:21 These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether [such an one] as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
Only God can wipe away our sins. Salvation is not by works but by grace.
2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In times of prosperity or even poverty it may seem unto us that we are doing right but that may not always be the case.
14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.
Your character cannot save you and neither can your sacrifice. But God told the Israelites to sacrifice thank offerings and prepare the way for a True Sacrifice.
50:22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear [you] in pieces, and [there be] none to deliver. 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth [his] conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God.
The salvation of God is not found in our sacrifice; true salvation is found in God's sacrifice.
16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.)
