| Done Getting Lost! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy! |
|
| |

This post is a product review with a spiritual application.
My biggest weakness has to be my sense of direction. When I get behind the wheel of a car, my brains just fly right out the window! I have gotten so lost it is not even funny. I miss major turns and exits and if a rode is closed, forget it! I have no idea how to get to where I am going. I have driven in circles for the longest time. Much like the Vacation movie, when Chevy Chase says, "Big Ben, Parliament" every time he passes them. The solution arrived Friday! Woo hoo!!
The GPS was custom made for us navigation-ally challenge drivers! Well I finally took the plunge and bought one. But only after I did the math and realized that this devise will surely pay for itself within a few months. Especially with all the gas I have wasted driving all over God's creation. The Garmin will now direct my travels. I can select "home" at anytime, and it will automatically take me there via the quickest route. Cool, huh? Need gas, and don't know where a gas station is? Click on "Fuel" and it will direct you to the closest gas station from wherever you are. Out of town and feel like a bite to eat? The satellite will pick up where you are and will let you select the type of restaurant you want. They also have a "Lodging" icon to select a hotel. You can even do a search for businesses. (No more $1.50 information calls from the cell phone!!) After you have made your selection, it gives you the name, address and phone number of the closest places. Just select "Go", and it will navigate you all the way to your destination. How bout dat??
Now let's look at our navigational tool that the Lord has place within those of us who believe in him, His Spirit. Often times the Spirit will gracefully say, "Here is the correct way." And what do we do? We go in the opposite direction. We say, "Was that really the Lord?" "How do I know?" "Was that my flesh?" When all the while, it was a gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit directing us "home" toward heaven. The Lord wants to direct our path. He will not give us the whole picture all at once. But He will be a lamp unto our feet. He shows us what's next, not what is way down the road. Much like the GPS, we will get one direction at a time, until we have safely arrived at our destination.
Be sensitive to that still small voice. I usually say, "If it goes against anything in the Word, then it is not the Lord." He will not contradict Himself. I also believe that our God is a confirming God. So go ahead, ask for a confirmation. The things that I have thought were the Lord and weren't, were almost always the things that I only heard once. When I get a constantly repeated message, it usually turns out to be the Lord.
Feeling overwhelmed because you are trying to tackle your whole vision at once? Let me encourage you to just take that next turn. Enjoy the ride! Let the Lord be your guide and you will never get lost! Can I get an amen??

Leave it to me to sit here thinking, I believe that was European Vacation. Me? I never get lost. But that's because people keep telling me where to go. |

| I don't think I've had a "product review with a spiritual application" before. Well done! And I learned some things along the way. |

| Amen!! I am fortunate to be able to read a map, and have not invested in a GPS device, but I have a nephew that actually makes them for a company that he works for. Now that is cool. Glad you will no longer be lost, and this is a great spiritual application too! |

| Thanks for posting this good read. I gotta keep my wife from reading it though... I don't want her connecting one of these gizmos to my chair and watching me on her work computer roll down I-97 to Annapolis during the day! LOL |

Sue - love the spiritual application. I also own a GPS and love it. Truly if we would follow the Lord's leading and guidance, we will never, ever all to worry about getting lost, being lost and needing to be found... the problem is too many think they have a better route!
This one deserves a STAR and a Amen!

Hey the GPS gave me a route to church that was 5 minutes faster yesterday! 5 minutes on Sunday morning is gold :)
Rosie, I love when it tells you to make a u turn. I made a wrong turn the other day and it said "redirecting, make a u turn" 5 seconds after I made the turn. Prior to having one of these "gizmos" I would have gone to Timbuktu before I realized I made the wrong turn.
You are all the best friends ever! |

Great blog Sue, when God gets ready to bless you, he always directs you to a specific place. The Holy Spirit navigational system must be your GPS guide and you must adhere to every directive. Just follow the cotton-pickin' instructions! Everytime God blessed someone in the Bible, there was geographical repositioning. Cool! ~DR P.S. I could not live without the Navigational System in my car because, I too, get lost even going to my mum's house where I grew up. LOL |

Have you guys ever done this? When I was first being taught about Holy Spirit, I would take off driving in my car at night sometimes & pray and ask Holy Spirit which way to turn or which way to go. It was alot of fun. A great activation to learning how to hear His directions. I dont know if I ever went the right way or wrong way, cuz I always had a good sense of direction & can find my way home...but it was fun working with Holy Spirits GPS system. Lots of fun it was. Holy Spirit really enjoyed those times with me.
Nice blog sis,

Amen Sue, I am learning again to follow the Holy Spirit GPS, it seems I can't stay on track without his direction. He is faithful to keep sending us the correct directions, it is just a matter of our deaf ears hearing it. Thanks for the great reminder! peace |
