Jess- No pheasants today.  The state did not stock the field close to us.
Dave- Thank you for your prayers.  I so appreciate your support.

Wow!  I'm used to stocked trout, but not stocked birds!  That's cool.

BTW, I have a breakfast of .5 to 1 cup yam.  I microwave it raw, then put a little butter on it.  That gives me a huge amount of energy for the day (I've danced 6 hours after eating just one medium sized yam).

Jess-Thanks for the yam tip.  I have some serious energy issues due to hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue so I will try the yam for breakfast sometime soon!  I'll probably add a bit of stevia (an herbal sweetener) & cinnamon to mine.

Yep, just don't add a bunch of sugar.  The thing that makes yam work so well is this: the starch in yam can't be instantly converted to sugar.  If you eat russet or red potatos, you get a sugar spike.  Yams and sweet potatos give you hours of energy.  I use sweet potato noodles in my soups.  I always feel pretty energetic after a bowl of sweet potato noodles.  You can get the noodles at Asian markets.

Yeah, I don't do the whole sugar thing well.  The stevia, because it is an herb, has no sugar in it therefore no spike to come down from.  While I will have sweets from time to time, I really try to limit my consumption and if I am making a desserty kind of thing I substitute with stevia.  Again with the adrenal & thyroid issues I have to look for foods that are balanced.
