I know the movie didn't come close, couldn't have.  He died for everyone's sins and we constantly 3,4,5 times daily keep going and leaving stuff... LORD HELP US TO LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD

Not even the tip of the iceburg Brother Dave! The Cross was more bloody more tragic and more of everything you saw! and you know what no matter how short this blog is, the amount of Power in just thinking about it or reading it makes it big! Because That means it"s Huge in your Heart, The Holy Spirit is Teaching you dave and Boy It is Rich!

Just think in the movie they did not depict the pulling out of Christ's beard and there is just no way to reproduce His carrying our sin.  You are so right, His Cross was so big.

Let look at like this, every person born yesterday, today and tomorrow(s) collectively could not bear that Cross!

It isn't always the size of the blog that counts, is it?

This reminds me of the story of the professor who had his bible class draw a pic of their worst enemy and post it on this big, blank paper on the wall. Then he gave them darts they could throw are their enemy's pic--and, boy, did they ever.

When everyone was done, he read the scripture "Whatever you've done to the least of these. . ."

And then he took down the page. And behind it was a pic of Jesus. . .only it was now mutilated because of all the darts they had thrown at their enemies.

At first the room was dead silent. They were stunned. Then the crying started as the message sunk in.

Just like we have no concept of who we really hurt when we lash out, we have NO concept of the agony of the cross. I am sure the universe itself was stunned when that first nail was driven in.  . .even before that, when that first of 39 lashs rent the tender skin of the Son of the Almighty.

No, the Passion did not come close.  Our Savior suffered and experienced tortuous things and horrific beatings that we can't even imagine and He did it without complaining because He loved us so much.  I can't fathom how heavy that cross was.

15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

"3,4,5 times daily keep going and leaving stuff"

Is it just me?   I need to go to God a lot more than that for the sinful attitudes (i.e. not just the actions I do, but the heart behind them).

LORD HELP US TO LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD

I totally understand this, but I think the Bible says we don't have to worry about this.  For me, I used to use this as a source of shame.  I was trying to motivate myself to not sin.  The Bible says Jesus died once for all.  All of the sin I will commit in my life, and my entire sinful nature was paid for all at once - before I was born.  Jesus knew exactly how much He was dying for.  I certainly to not wish for sin to rule my life, and God and I are working so I sin as little as possible.  At the same time, shame is also a sin.  Adam and Eve didn't feel shame until after they sinned.  And then, their shame caused them to hide from God.  A life where someone is always feeling ashamed is a life where someone is living in sin.

Wow!  I went on a bit, didn't I.

Dave,
Thanks for that reminder, that our new life cost Christ everything!  We can't even begin to understand the true sacrifice He made, but Praise God we will not have to suffer as we deserve.

I couldn't watch the Passion, so I can't tell you much about it. I saw the first half and then had to close my eyes. Too real.

This is one of those questions, I am not sure we want to know the answer...not sure we could bare it...I am just grateful the cross was big enough for me...Selah.

As far as the east is from the west...I think the answer is that the cross was big enough.  TGBTG!!
