Deb~Nice story but what I really like is the last paragraph. I'm sure you have touched his heart with this as you have mine.

If you read history you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.

C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.

Thanks for reminding me of my eternal destination - heaven, which compells me to be more effective in what I do for Him here on earth.

Jay, I am glad that you were touched by what I wrote.  I will tell you that this little girl touched my heart with her joy.  It was a beautiful thing.

Pastor Tim, I am glad I could remind you, although I doubt you really needed reminding.  :)

Restore, God is awesome...and I have more kittens if you really want one :)

Bouxygirl, we need to be more like children in this life, don't we?

Funny, but I get the distinct impression that you brighten up just about all the faces who see you.  Thanks for sharing such a great story - and analogy.
