A Gift

I got the pleasure of making a little girl smile today.

You see, her birthday was last week. Her mother decided she would give her little girl a kitten. I just happen to have a litter of kittens that I am trying to find homes for (if anyone out there would like a kitten, please notify me). So her mother brought her daughter to my house to get the kitten. The little girl knew nothing of this little surprise, so she didn't know why they were going to my house.

When she walked into my garage, which is where the kittens are, her eyes lit up. When her mother told her she could have one for her birthday, her face lit up with a huge smile. I felt so good knowing that I had made this little girl happy with a kitten...and I felt good knowing this kitten was going to a home where it would be loved and well taken care of.

This is what it is like with God. We go through our lives, not knowing what is coming next. Sometimes there are bad things that happen, but sometimes, God surpises us with a gift so great that it just makes our whole face light up. I don't know where He is leading me in this life, but I know at the end of life, He will be there and He will take my hand as I cross over to Heaven, and there will be the biggest surprise of them all. I have a feeling I can't even imagine what is in store for me when I get there. But I do know, I will have a huge smile on my face.

Deb~Nice story but what I really like is the last paragraph. I'm sure you have touched his heart with this as you have mine.

Jay, I am glad that you were touched by what I wrote. I will tell you that this little girl touched my heart with her joy. It was a beautiful thing.

Pastor Tim, I am glad I could remind you, although I doubt you really needed reminding. :)

Restore, God is awesome...and I have more kittens if you really want one :)
