Kudos to the MyChurch Team

Just want to take a moment here to recognize the team for their continued work. They improve the site continually and I am very grateful for that.

An example of the things they do behind the scenes happened to me last night. Evidently the MyChurch team has enough of a backup processing going on to help guys like me.  About 4:30 I was posting to my blog and after writing my post, it took forever to load, then my screen changed to one that said "site maintenance".  After struggling to find the words I wanted to write at that hour of the morning, I was not too pleased with the idea of having to write it again...but, I thought, that is what "beta" is all about.  Lo and behold about 10 minutes later when the site was back up, my post had indeed been posted. There is was just like I had written it.  I have no clue, nor should I, if this is the way it has always been or if it is a result of something new.

So, given my experience last night, and the improvements I continue to see, I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to the team on the left coast that makesit all possible.  Keep up the good work guys!!

I noticed today, we are quickly approaching 12,000 churches.

MyChurch.org, the social network for churches, has reached 10,000 church milestone.

This MySpace for churches is a rather niche site with tools for Bible blogging, event registration for individual churches, sermon streaming, and other tools designed for church members to take advantage of. This ends up being a tool for pastors to continue to reach parishioners outside of Sunday morning service, and offer a space for furthered discussion amongst members.

In a rather short time, MyChurch has gained significant growth, and it’s a well put together network. Others that are recently following suit include Oikos, and CircleBuilder has received funding.

Yup they've stayed up a lot better than Skype did awhile back. I sure wish I could get people from my home church onto myChurch. Any ideas for how to spur interest?

Our church really ramped up after I blogged about the New Orleans trip. I am not saying the blog was important, but they started seeing the value of the site then. Hard to get people engaged that haven't done this stuff before.

All of the members from my church that have joined... really talk the site up.... we use it to pass new information to each other and a little over a month ago we had a tragic death in our church of a 17 year old member and mychurch really helped all of  us by being able to post our feelings and thoughts. We told others about how it helped and more are joining.  I know that the site has helped me on several occassions with situations I'm going through with prayer and encouragement.  Hope this gives you some ideas.

Appreciate all the comments folks. I think there is a lot more that happens behind the scenes than we know.
