If you were to read history of wars fought, you would find that in many battles over the years people have been hurt or even killed by what is called “ Friendly Fire”.
Friendly fire or non-hostile fire, a term originally adopted by the United States military, is fire from allied or friendly forces, as opposed to fire coming from enemy forces or enemy fire. A friendly fire incident (fratricide), is when friendly forces or materiel are attacked and damaged by friendly fire [1] which may be deliberate (e.g. incorrectly identifying the target as the enemy), or accidental (e.g. missing the enemy and hitting "friendlies"). Friendly fire is one kind of collateral damage.
We have seen this in just about every war fought , even up until today, over in the gulf and places like that. Although I believe that some war is needful, and should be fought for freedom ,justice, and equality , it still overwhelms me to hear of people being killed, especially when it’s done by friendly fire.
Now I have started this blog out using war as the example but this blog is not about that kind of war.
The war we are talking about is the war being fought by those in the Army of the Lord, the ones who profess to be saved and are trying to see to it that all have the opportunity to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and the ones who believe that there is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun.
Those of us who believe there is a enemy who is trying to defeat us with all the powers of evil.
You and I must realize that, the battle is not ours it is the Lords, we must still be aware that we are in a Spiritual war, and we have to see to it that we know who’s side we are on. You and i wear the same uniform and carry the same weapons, and are fighting for the same cause.
Sometime we still suffer with collateral Damage. This is happen whenever the focus of the battle is taken off the Captain of our Souls.
Without correct correspondence ; solders in the army of the Lord will end up mangled and even killed as a result.
You and i as an elite force in the army of God must go through special training to be able to stay alive on the battle field " Remember we are talking about Friendly fire" "not the kind that come's from the enemy" Sometime it is important to go back to the basics, you can be sure to read in your manual (The Bible) How you ought to treat your fellow solders.
The key to not being harmed by this “Friendly fire” Is: 1. Being on one accord.
2. Not taking our eyes off the task at hand. 3. Follow the navigation given by the Holy Spirit. Alway cheek your fire- power before you shoot!
