| I love blacks... I hate N#$%^@ |

did the title get your attention? LOL good..actually I don't "Hate" anyone but that lying theving devil and entire army of cursed demons!! It's just that I was flipping though the stations and I came across BET's 2007 Music awards and there was a rapper named "David Banner" saying "what's wrong with hip hop" Now I thought that was a trick question....he started bragging on how it's the "voice of the ghetto and black community" and I thought that was so sad...cause honestly what other race or culture dehumanize it's women in music like our race,,,,,,,,? not country, not blues, not opra, not even rock and roll..now some songs may diss one certain female but not the whole spectrum of women like hip hop (which is mostly black performed but white consumed) so if we are saying it's ok to disrespect our women or women in general what does that say about us...same with the dreaded "N" word they can't get mad if someone from another race call them that if they use it 232 times on a CD such a a certain rapper I know..so would I be considered an "Uncle Tom" for thinking that this so called "voice of the ghetto and hood" IS the problem and not a soulution! I don't know just something I was thinking about, I may expand......maybe not......who knows? 1,1,1 Chyll |

| Well..... I heard "of" the song but never seen it or heard the song it self........but if so, that would be only one instance compared to 95% of the all hip hop songs out today that makes women the "B' word or "H' word or worse. |

JChyll,
I'm with you %100. Again this is nothing but the work of the enemy. And it has a serious foothold within our community. Bringing awareness to the situation is a start. Good for you.

Pastor Aminata Thank you ............and Isha you 100% right I understand that if you offer someone a glass of dirty water they must drink it if there is nothing else around but what we need to do is offer them a clean glass of water and let them descide and unless they are crazy they'll take the clean water LOL I know being a gospel rapper there are MANY, MANY, MANY churches who say I'm as worldly as T.I. or Nelly or Fat Joe or whom ever but if they took time out and listen to such gospel rappers as Tadashii, The Ambassador, T.R.U.T.H., T-Bone and J.Chyll they'll see we're just doing Gods work as we're comanded to do...I wanna see not just our but all communities fill with the Holy Spirit. But I pray that ALL of you guys are blessed and highly favored. |
| The problem with identifying with the ghetto, is you may never see the need to leave it. |
| J Chyll-I personally know some rappers from the group called Ziglag Boys and I got to tell you that they have reached a generation who is not going to be moved by "Amazing Grace" You just keep it Holy and measure the success by the fruit you bear. If lives are being changed, then continue on in the Lord. |

JChyll I know this might sound strange coming from a 54yr old grandma, but I believe that the Lord will raise up more like you... I remember the first time I heard TRUTH and I was floored. Wow, I got him on my ipod. I pray the the Lord continue to use you and others for His Glory, you may not get all..... ah but what a good catch you will get... back by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jess, I'm not sure what you mean by your statement... I "think" I might understand, not sure though.. the gettho for some may be a place to leave.... since it is where I hail from... it is not a place to leave... rather a place to transform...by the power of the Holy Spirit... there are souls in those ghettos..

| You know JessIAm you're definly right I never thought of it like that way if one don't see that where they are is a bad thing they won't wanna change..if they think that's all they have to look forward too that will set their state of mind...hhmmmmmm good looking out there JessIAm..but now the question is "how do we show them that and I think Isha got the right point stop feeding into and contributing to their negative ways..Like Isha said I wasn't moved by "amazing Grace when I was a Muslim but when I told in one day to check the CD's of The Cross Movement, Tbone, Toby Mac, Skillet.. I was shown the light of Christ almost instantly |

Thank you for your honesty. It seems that satan is making a point of stealing all respect for everyone and everything. There's no respect for the office of President, for self, for God, life, property....you name it. It's our duty as Christians to turn that around by making a point of respecting and loving everyone we come in contact with. We love because He first loved us. We should be a blessing to others.....if not...we're not doing something right. |

Your right Pastor Aminata, there are many people whom God loves everywhere. I don't mean to put down anyone living in a ghetto (BTW, what is a ghetto? - it's a term I hear, but not one I understand - see below). When someone says hip hop is "voice of the ghetto and black community", they are putting a description and an identity on both a place and a people group. It implies hip hop is the only voice for the ghetto and black community. I wonder what the black community - all of the black community, says about his claim. I have to admit, I've only heard of the ghetto, and I presume what it means from what I've heard. I'm sure my view is inaccurate, since it comes from what little hip-hop I've heard, and one song by Elvis. The association I have is: economical depression to the point of oppression; little or no hope for a better life; rampant violence. I assume there is a need for a better life - that people would be better off living somewhere with more opportunity. I'd appreciate any correction on this. I guess what I mean is: if a person identifies his/her self as X, they tend to remain as an X. I came across this all the time when I tutored math. Most of my job was helping people believe they could succeed in math. They had labeled themselves as "people who just couldn't get math". I had to convince them they could do it (mostly be showing them that keeping a checkbook is an application of algebra). I hope I've made myself clearer. I'm sure some of my misunderstanding may come across as offensive. For anyone who responds, please keep in mind that I'm asking for help understanding, and that I'd love to learn more (God can use me more that way). |
Chris-true JessIam-I don't think anyone is offended, we all need understanding about different things we were not exposed to. |
| LOL I LIKE IT JessIAm!!!!! (first of all if you read my response I didn't think you were putting anyone down..I thought you were agreeing with me lol) I just think Pastor Aminata was just asking for a little clarity so it's all good here..but the whole math thing was great..and accurate. Now I'm not a math scholar (nor Writting or english by looking at my blogs ha ha) but I just took what you said and made a math equation in my head if we take said "X" (Unrepentant so called ghetto and hood people) and introduce them to "Z" (teachings of Christ) we would get the formulad (X+Y) = "Z" (a Christian saved and blessed)..... I don't know I'm just silly like that I guess. But bro you got Love here for you |
| actually I noticed that I put the wrong letter in the "equation" but yall get it LMBO!!! |
| OK, let me add my corny math in: 1+1=1 one sinner, one savior= one whole man |
| true true I like that too...we got a whole little math club going on here Jess |

Reference Pastor Aminata comment addressed to not just JessIam:
"Jess, I'm not sure what you mean by your statement... I "think" I might understand, not sure though.. the gettho for some may be a place to leave.... since it is where I hail from... it is not a place to leave... rather a place to transform...by the power of the Holy Spirit... there are souls in those ghettos.."
We need to see the "Transformation" spiritually directed by the Holy Spirit...I so appreciate both your comments...because, only when they R both together...does the dialog start 2 get hot...meaning closer the the Spirit fire.... The "Man" is out there 2 "TRANSFORM" certain physical places 2 "???make them Better???", meaning more materialialistically pleasing 2 their eye. I like to look thru the eye of seeing the people...their souls...their love 4 each other...and their fear & frustration that they have 4 not being able 2 protect their loved ones from the surrounding that is the only comfort zone they know....The Spirit of Truth is the only answer...and I know that Spirit is directin' me just 2 B there 2 walk along side..and 2 appreciate the mutual exchange of Knowledge + love = Wisdom...Prov: 1:7
1:7 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; `But' the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

(X+Y) = "Z" (a Christian saved and blessed)..... I don't know I'm just silly like that I guess. That isn't silly at all J Chyll. The 'Y' is God's love expressed through Jesus' followers. I didn't think anyone was offended, but as a non black person speaking in a discussion that is apparently about black issues I want to be as sensitive as possible. |
