| Revive Me (a song I wrote) |
|
| |
Revive Me
It doesn’t take a big old show, It doesn’t take a tent. It don’t take no big preachin’ man, Nor one blessed cent
Just return to the God from whom All life got a start. All it takes, is the grace of God, And a willing heart.
Chorus: Lord revive me, Lord revive me. My spirit’s dry, to You I cry, revive me. This life I live, it’s just too big, For my strength alone. Sustain me with Your mighty hand, Until you take me home.
There are things, that I’ve done, Of which I feel ashamed. Even if I had some help, Lord I’m the one to blame.
But in Your Word I see, when You look at me, You don’t see that at all. When I accept Your sacrifice, You made me white as snow.
Chorus
There are some things that I do That don’t seem from above Seems no matter what I meant They just don’t show Your love
Maybe all the things, that I’ve lived through Have all taken their toll. Please give my heart a make over, Oh, Lord please heal my soul.
Chorus

| This is wonderful! Thank God for you and your gifts, Jess! I hope you do record the audio; we're going to be reminding you repeatedly. :) |

Thanks Arlene, Lara, JayKTX, and Valya. Wow! I'm being compared with Dylan! I'm speechless. He's a Christian you know, and put out 3 Christian albums before he got fed up with the Christian music industry.
The words are copy written, but the music wouldn't be. It is sooo easy to download a song file from the internet (even the ones that are supposed to be unavailable for download). All a person needs to copyright a song, is a copy of the song lyrics, a recording of the song, and $45. If I put any recordings of my songs up, I could end up having to pay someone else to play my own song.
I hope you do record the audio; we're going to be reminding you repeatedly. :)
Knowing me, praying that God works things out so that I record the songs will be much more effective =D |

| Great lyrics. I can't wait to hear it once you've gotten a copyright! I understand why you want that first, though... It's the same reason I don't post full versions of my songs - just excerpts... and I never post a recording. But I hope one day to listen to your songs! |

Thanks Kyleen,
I figure if God gave me a song, it's my responsibility to protect it. |

Thanks Janeice. It's a total gospel feel with hick country overtones.
Thanks Solemusiq. I don't know where God's going to take me with this music, but He'll give me the grace I need to flourish in every place He wants me to go. |

| Jess, this song is good. I like that you don't push rythm and forsake the weight of the lyrics. Too many try to ryhm too much and lose the depth of the song. Very good. |

| Thanks Patrick, I admit I take some liberties with rhyming. I'm not sure "all" and "snow" rhym, but it's close enough for me. =D |
