| I Want To KNOW My BRIDEGROOM! |

HIS people are the bride, HE is the bridegroom. (This title made it seem that I was getting married and I can see how that would seem true) I am not married to a human but consider myself as part of the BRIDE of the SAVIOR.
Many people think the Bible is hard to read and hard to understand. They also wonder what does all that Hebrew and Jewish stuff have to do with me?? HE knows when I speak English (and whatever language I may speak), but I can understand more about what the BOOK about HIM, originally written in HIS language, by HIS people. The BIBLE starts, continues all the way to the end about HIS people, HIS being born, HIS dying to save us, and the decision to GRAFT Gentiles into HIS plan. It does make a difference.
Since the Bible was written centuries ago, in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, it is necessary to research what actual words were used by the authors and what those words meant AT THAT TIME. I may not become fluent in speaking the language, but there IS a certain amount that IS important to KNOW.
When you do word study or topic study, learning Hebrew words and way of life, it certainly can clarify things! Communication IS the key in any relationship be it personal or business. One way to HIS communication is through Scripture. (Yes, I know HE can lead us many ways) I am curious and interested enough to learn at least some of the more important words and the meaning of it in HIS language and customs.
Even though HE may not require that I learn HIS language and culture, I know it could only help me understand, appreciate, and identify with HIM more. I want to understand more about MY BRIDEGROOM, the one I LOVE, the JEWISH MESSIAH, YESHUA (Jesus).
In our English language, even in my lifetime, words have taken on a new meaning. I'm sure you can think of many but a few that come to mind right now are mouse, gay, coke, crack, etc. I get emails with a lot more words that have changed meaning and they changed even within a few years time. Today you can use an English word that offends English speaking people, simply since the interpretation of the word has changed since the original meaning. It's very easy to shut down communication and closeness when the real word said and what it meant from it speaker is not know to the person being spoken to. I may think they meant something else, but they did not. In some lands you can use an English word that offends the people of that land because it means one thing to English speaking people and something totally different in another language.
Yes, I certainly want to know as much as I can about MY BRIDEGROOM. I think it helps me understand HIM, show respect to HIM, and honor to HIM, if I learn all I can about his background, history, and language.

| MaKelly, Thank you for your comment and star. It's good to know we are fellowshipping with other believers, share information, and encourage one another. We can also draw closer to the Saviour thorough this process! Thanks! |

Hopeful, Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I also appreciate that you shared your dream of study of biblical languages.
I am certainly no expert, but the word study or topic study that includes the ancient words and their meaning, certainly did help me learn in ways I never did before. It's very interesting as well as educational.
Thanks for your encouragement!

Have you ever noticed how the "experts" in great numbers tend to be wrong in their interpretation? I don't believe there ever could be an expert in any part of our Father's Word. To think one is, is what I would call a fool. One who has not reached into His word enough to know the difference of not knowing all as we are!! Great blog!! God bless!! |
