Here's the challenge:

This Christmas instead of showering your loved ones with gifts that may never even be used, why not utilize that money to reach out to the parts of the world that have real needs. Water. Do you know that there are at least 1.1 billion people in the world that do not have drinkable water or are suffering and dying from water related diseases?

Today I learned that is estimated that 10 billion dollars would solve the worlds drinking water problems. I also learned that it is estimated that Americans will spend 474 billion dollars on Christmas this year. That's right, 474 billion dollars. Sickness and disease are spreading rapidly throughout third world countries and we have to pack our closets with more clothes, more shoes, a bigger TV for the guest room. That's completely ridiculous and completely against what we as Christians are called to do.
