To add a comment to "Jehova-Jirah"

I had a Jehovah-Jireh experience this weekend that will probably sound silly to most but it meant a lot to me.

I have a lot of cats, and Friday night I realized I was low on cat litter. (Bad thing!)  I was planning to go see my friend Lynne on Saturday, so I made a mental note that I needed to go buy litter after our visit.  The Lord broke into this thought and told me that Lynne would give me some litter.  Okay...

Lynne works with animal rescue groups and fosters just about any kind of animal you can imagine until it is placed in a home or rehabilitated to go back into the wild.  While I was there another lady also involved in rescue called and had gotten some donations of food and other supplies for the rescue folks, and told Lynne to come get what she needed.  She commented that her husband was busy with his truck, so she did not know how she could get the supplies from her.  I reminded her that I had my truck and I could help her out.  It turns out that most of what this lady had for 'supplies' was cat litter, and it was the kind I use rather than the kind Lynne used.  I not only ended up with some litter, I ended up with a truckload of litter!  She also had a couple of 35 pound bags of the special food the dog eats and she gave those to me too.  (So I don't have to buy dog food for 2 to 3 months!  Woo hoo!!)  There were things there that Lynne used, but most of it was what I needed.  The truck was creaking and groaning as we drove because it was so full, and it is able to haul 2000 pounds.  He is so able to do exceedingly abundantly!

God wants to bless us in the everyday things, and in things that don't mean anything to anyone except us.  I am His favorite child!  You are His favorite child!  And "if you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" (Matt. 7:11)  And on Saturday, I didn't even ask...

Blessings!
