| Musical Tears |

| |
Yesterday morning, at church, I was overwhelmed with gratitude, sadness, humbleness, thankfulness and love for my Lord and Savior. Not to say that I don’t feel that way every week, but this week, I was moved to tears during a song that was sung.
What was different about this Sunday is that it was Youth Sunday, where the youth of our church had put together the service with singing, skits, and a sermon all done by them. One song in particular, even though I have sung it before, just hit me with a powerful impact, and I started crying…tears just rolling down my face. I probably would have started sobbing if I had not been in church (I am not one to display my emotions). This is the song, called “Above All”... Above all powers Above all kings Above all nature And all created things Above all wisdom And all the ways of man You were here Before the world began
Above all kingdoms Above all thrones Above all wonders The world has ever known Above all wealth And treasures of the earth There's no way to measure What You're worth
CHORUS Crucified Laid behind a stone You lived to die Rejected and alone Like a rose Trampled on the ground You took the fall And thought of me Above all
Sometimes when I think of what Jesus did for me, I am just overwhelmed. To think of all I have done wrong and that He has given me life and wiped the slate clean. I can never repay Him, never thank Him enough. I love Him so much! I felt His presence with me yesterday in church as tangible as if He were sitting beside me. I know He is always with me, but I don't always feel the presence like I did yesterday, as strongly and sure as anything. Thank you Lord, for making yourself known in that place and in that song. |

Gene, I love music, and yes, it does touch some in a powerful way. I often sing as my time of worship to the Lord. Good thing He blessed me with a fair singing voice, or I might not be able to stand to hear myself! :)
DC, ah yes, He keeps wiping the slate clean. Good for us, huh? |

Martin Luther said, "After theology, I give the highest place and greatest honor to music."
Music has a way of illuminating truth to us like nothing else. What a wonderful testimony. Thank you for encouraging me! |

it is overwhelming...God's agape love for us...amazing grace thank you for that Lisa |

|
| The tearing up happens to me about every other week I think. I sing in the choir and sometimes I can't sing because of this. When I recover I rejoin the song... |

Abbas_daughter, just think when we are with Him, it will be so magnificent! The music will be something so awesome. It is hard to even imagine.
Pastor Tim, I am glad that something I shared could encourage you.
Bouxygirl, Thank you for your comment. And you are welcome!
Realtor Randy, I sing on the praise team, and there are times I cry when I am singing too. I have also seen people in the congregation become emotional during songs, and that makes me emotional too! |

| DC, it is a powerful song and the words say it all. |

Deb that song is a sermon all by itself, and each time we sing it we should pause and really reflect upon those words. HE IS AN AWESOME GOD. |

One of my favorite songs, but we don't sing it where I worship right now. I do miss the wonderful praise songs I learned from other congregations. This one has a great message! Thanks for sharing it with us. When I don't hear a song for a long time, I start to forget about it, but I don't want to forget this one! Sharon |

| Sharon, it is one of my favorite songs too. Music is so much a part of my life, that I have tons of cd's. I need to get some of them out that I haven't listened to in a long time and remember some oldies. |
