Excellent comments Tim. I appreciate the historical update. We still do not have the autographs, but as you pointed out, and I quite agree, the New Testament was very accurately copied - moreso than any other ancient document except perhaps the OT. Inerrantly so? I can't make that claim.

It is not quite perfect logic to state that because this and that are not in the Bible they are both equally valid. I personally agree with the concept of inerrancy as a counter-cultural synonym for truth, but in that limited way as I said above, not as broadly as some might wish to use the word.
