I was reading a book tonight, and in it the author quoted Daniel 10:12-13 to make a point: 10:12 Then he said to me, "Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 10:13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, so I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of Persia So Daniel is fasting for THREE WEEKS when this angel shows up and is all "Oh, sorry dude, I was all on my way on the first day you started fasting and praying, but I got held up for a while back in Persia. Hope you're not TOO hungry...yeah, see, I was fighting with this prince guy, and he was pretty strong, so I had to call my buddy Mike and he's there dealing with the prince guy now, see, and I told him I'd come back when I was done answering your prayer and stuff, so I have to get going pretty quick here, but...uh...what was it you wanted?" I just love how the angel explains the whole story. "Like, yeah, I totally wanted to go, but then I started playing Halloween Bejeweled, and the next thing I knew it was, like, 4 days later...."
