What a mistake to enter the workplace all decked out in spiritual armor and not have a clue what your marching orders are. Present yourself to the Commander of the army of the Lord each morning, and ask Him to dispatch you where He wants you to go. Ask Him which battles to fight and which battles to walk away from.
The same is true in sales. Ask the Father to show you which prospects you should spend time with and which ones are a drain on your resources. In negotiations, you need God's wisdom to know which points to yield on and which ones are non-negotiable. If you don't know before you start, it is a lot harder to figure it out in the heat of the battle.
That is where prayer, all kinds of prayer, comes in to play. It is not enough to pray just at the start of your day. Pray all through the day. God wants to impart wisdom and direction in all the crossroads of your day, to protect you from evil and give you great success.
A WORK PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for providing me with Your armor when I enter the spiritual battles at work. Show me which battles to fight and which to walk away from. Amen.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS (for small groups and individuals)
1. Have you ever felt like you went to work all decked out in spiritual armor and didn't have a clue what your marching orders were? What are some examples?
2. How would prayer help with that problem?
