She’s the best thing that ever happened to you By Dan Pace
Adam was married to Eve. God gave her to him and so is and was the highest to ever preside over a wedding. The Lord gave her to him as a helpmate. Not to do all the work .Not to ignore the work. A helpmate designed to share the load.
However, partnerships that work are uniquely common .Sounds like an oxymoron. In fact, they are common because there are plenty of them out there. They are unique because God is in their midst. From the moment they met God has His hand in it and God is never common.
As for the first partnership of man and woman. They were God’s children and when they started to do it their own way it was time to move on. Your heavenly Father says,” My house, my rules”. But they were in it together though and off they were cast. The helpmate now had the bigger task (still does)., childbirth. Labor they call it. Even sounds like a lot of work. Some say that God was punishing woman .Truth is they were both being punished. Hers was laborious birth and his was hearing about it. As Bill Cosby once remarked, his wife looked at him and shouted,”you did this to me”! People often accuse God of contradicting Himself. Truth is God does everything with balance. From nature to life, balance.
Good to Evil, balance.
Man and wife, balance.
SHE’S THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU
Do opposites attract? They sure do, men and women are by nature opposites. If we understand that we can look at each others differences as tools to be used. A complete toolbox has some tools rarely used but every bit as important when needed. People are like that. Your wife has so many assets that go unexplored because we tend to overuse certain tools. The famous “comfort zone”. A wise man knows the difference between his best flathead screwdriver and a pry bar. So great partnerships are born and made. God’s providence plus your hard work. It is work, hence the need for help. From themselves and God. Great partnerships aren’t people who never disagree, rather people who let the other do what they do best.
She’s the best thing that ever happened to you.
If marriage fails, which it tends to do at a rate of fifty percent these days? That will be the worst thing that ever happened to you. Divorce is devastating. Your first one should re-marry and divorce yet again will make you numb. Your respect for marriage can be so damaged that you never truly appreciate it again. A guy said to me he was getting married again for the fourth time because of the “benefits”, he must’ve been talking about healthcare because the true benefits had escaped him. Just didn’t get it.
She’s the best thing that ever happened to you
So here’s what you do. Make what’s important to her, important to you
.Believe that and live it..
Love her, appreciate her and tell her. Do NOT attempt to understand her. It can’t be done. not by man anyway. However, God does know her .Better than she knows herself. After all she's a gift from Him.
Ask Him what He thinks. He just might tell you the truth, …
She’s the best thing that ever happened to you

In a Sunday School class we were talking about Adam and Eve. First Eve ate the forbidden fruit. I innocently pipe up, "If Adam hadn't ate too would that mean men would really be perfect instead of just thinking they are?"
Eve got talked into it. Adam did it because everyone else was doing it.
My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me. I chased her until she caught me.
My wife is submissive to me. We have an arrangement. I get to be the boss and make important decisions. She agrees with me and then goes ahead and does whatever needs to be done. This way I at least get to feel like I'm important. (We really do this)
.....peace.....

Jack - as always thought provoking Depending on your interpretation... Adam not being deceived meant from the serpent but youre right it would seem he knew ... he certainly blamed her quick enough,..."It was the woman"
pureheart- I chased her until she caught me ...is that original ? Great line !
Everyone else was doing it ?... have to go back to what Jack said --- "She " was doing it... there was no one else there. He wasnt following any crowd.
My friend , comedian Tom Simmons says it like this ...
"She makes the small decisions and I make the big decisions ,.. then she tells me which are which". ...For the rest you'll have to catch his act. (Raleigh in December. )

| But you fall for the woman |

| I agree - but the women "being silent" in the church refers to the gossipping and backbiting in a specific congregation that scholars agree was what Paul was addressing. He never intended for it to be literal. Is there allegory there? Sure, if youre trying to find it but then everything works that way or comedians (like myself) would all be out of a job. Good stuff -,Jack ! |

| Definitely - but remember were talking about a gift from God here... I am interested in the ladies and what they think about being the best thing that ever happened to him..... | |
