It's funny that we would talk about this topic because the song that I had on previous was talking about my destiny... Through listening to the words of the song, God had me analyze my life... There were questions that came to mind about why I fight and why I hold on and why I continue in the faith despite everything whether good or bad and then it dawned on me... it's because I WANT SOMETHING... I am not talking about something superficial or material, but I believe that there is something in me that knows that things have to change that is not favorable to my future.
I began to look at the lives of the many people that come to me because they trust the God in me, and when we pray and touch and agree on things and then witness God manifest those blessings not long after. I began to reflect on the little things that God has done in my life; and realize that even from a child if I wrote a list about those things that God has done, everyday of my life; how in accurate it would be because God keeps me not just from danger seen, but also unseen. Just to know that there are some things that God won't even allow to come in our paths because He knows what we can handle and what we cannot. He knows what we can take... God knows how to stretch us to our fullest capacity, but He never let's us pop. Even as I sit here writing this message I can hear songs of strength ring in my ears so loudly that the very words make my heart flutter... I can even think about when I made mistakes knowingly and unknowingly how God still stood there flat-footed with His mighty arms crossed and declared... that I am NOT going anywhere until IT is finished... and even in those twirls and those fumbles that we all experience in this life... how God with His stubborn hope in us, just waits patiently for us to get it together. And when we are finally awakened and our hearts are renewed and enlightened about what is going on, how an urging and boost of fire and excitment just gets behind us and pushes us forward; giving us a testimony of how GOD stood and how GOD waited... and how HE never left your side even when your frailties caused your head to bow down in shame.
It is not until we actually sit down and think about all of these things and realize what is done... and a spiritual "light bulb" flashes above our head and we say to ourselves....hey.....God is doing something... God is awakening something... and the reason why we keep going despite of the tears, and despite of the disappointments is such is because there is a seed that has been planted in us before mankind... before the trouble... before conception in the mother's wound, before birth, before your first birthday and second birthday and fifth birthday; before those first words and second words. Etc... and that was DESTINY....
When I look at the life of Jonathan in scripture... Jonathan wanted his destiny... let's read it together...
14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armor, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that Jehovah will work for us; for there is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few. 14:7 And his armorbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thy heart: turn thee, behold, I am with thee according to thy heart. 14:8 Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will disclose ourselves unto them. 14:9 If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them. 14:10 But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up; for Jehovah hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be the sign unto us. 14:11 And both of them disclosed themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves. 14:12 And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armorbearer, Come up after me; for Jehovah hath delivered them into the hand of Israel. 14:13 And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armorbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armorbearer slew them after him. 14:14 And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armorbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre of land. 14:15 And there was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled; and the earth quaked: so there was an exceeding great trembling. 14:16 And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went `hither' and thither. 14:17 Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armorbearer were not there. 14:18 And Saul said unto Ahijah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was `there' at that time with the children of Israel. 14:19 And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the tumult that was in the camp of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thy hand. 14:20 And Saul and all the people that were with him were gathered together, and came to the battle: and, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, `and there was' a very great discomfiture. 14:21 Now the Hebrews that were with the Philistines as beforetime, and that went up with them into the camp, `from the country' round about, even they also `turned' to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Jonathan. 14:22 Likewise all the men of Israel that had hid themselves in the hill-country of Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle. 14:23 So Jehovah saved Israel that day: and the battle passed over by Beth-aven.
Jonathan knew that he had a destiny and he wasn't going to let anyone stop him from getting it. He didn't care about his own life, but he smelled and tasted DESTINY. Because of his heroism and courage and his faith in God, he was able to go out with just he and his armor-bearer and cause a civil war between their enemies. Can you imagine how Saul looked? He is looking at the large army of the Philistines and witnesses them killing themselves. All this happened because Jonathan wanted his destiny and he believed in what God has placed in Him. So did David when he defiled the same enemy and went against their greatest champion. He believed in his destiny....
And so do you... you who can still get up and fight even after you have been knocked down by stress and frustration and the weights of wrong choices and habits that appear to overtakeyou at the moment. Although your heart may have fainted when it was in front of you... you knew that God was with you... and you were led by that armor-bearer within you which represents the "still small voice" of God and you grab hold of the courage and hope that's attached to your destiny.
ALL I CAN HEAR GOD SAY is "ASK THEM IF THEY WANT IT... ASK THEM IF THEY WANT IT... and IF THEY WANT IT... THEN TELL THEM TO TAP INTO IT....
When you tap into your destiny, you will find strength even in the midst of weakest conditions
When you tap into your destiny your will find joy and laughter even in the midst of tragedies and stress...
When you tap into your destiny, you will find hope even when the walls of opposition are closing in on you....Trying to smother your faith ... trying to smother your dreams...
When you tap into your destiny... it doesn't matter who participates, who comes with you, who encourages you, who will walk with you... you will make up in your mind that even if you feel that you have to fight alone; that you are really not alone because God is there just like that armor-bearer, fighting with you and encouraging you to go forward.....
So God is telling US that we have to tap into it... even though what we see tells us that it cannot be done or that it will not be done... we have to tap into it... even though those issues may be still in front of us... we have to TAP INTO IT.... Hallelujah....
It's there we will find the strength to go forward and DESTROY THE YOKES OF THE ENEMY ON OUR LIVES, IN OUR LIVES...and THOSE SURROUNDING OUR LIVES.... HALLELUJAH!!!
As I sit here with tears in my eyes and praise in my heart, I am thankful to God for bringing me through those years and those months; weeks and those days; those hours, those minutes and those seconds... HALLELUJAH!!... It was because of that seed of destiny.....
AND I WANT IT....... I WANT IT.... I WANT IT......... HALLELUJAH!!...
I wish that I can write about the overwhelming presence of God that is repairing and filling my heart in words... because it feels so good.... to know that God's investment in me will not fail.. It will not decrease in value... but IT WILL BE FULFILLED in me.... and I am crazy enough to believe that it will be fulfilled in YOU TOO....
You are right Trop...we have such an assurance through the Spirit of God that dwells in us. Isn't it just like that armor-bearer? It fights with us until there victory regardless of how dark it gets...or no matter how hard things appear. He (speaking of the Holy Spirit) knows what it's gonna take and when we hearken unto the voice of the spirit, we are led and directed by God...
