8:28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, `even' to them that are called according to `his' purpose. 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained `to be' conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: Know Your Enemy! (Part 2)
1. DOUBLE MINDEDNESS A “double minded “ man in Greek means to be “ double souled “. To be double minded is to forget James 1:8 and 4:8 (1:8- A double minded man is unstable in his ways.) When we start to double guess our thoughts we start to become unstable, and what good are we when we are hot for God one minute and cold the next. (4:8 “ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts. ye double minded:). 8. DISHONESTY We can be dishonest by: a) lying or cheating, b) holding back certain facts, or c) being less than we should as pastor, parents or workers which is to cheat our people and children. It is estimated that over $500million is raised each year by false “ faith healers” who cannot do what they claim. To be dishonest is to forget 11Corinthians 4:2 (But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.) Dishonesty comes by fear or greed. 9. DECEIT One of the most powerful weapons that our enemy has is Deceit! He use it as a toy, again us so that we be lost and confuse, but you see our God is not a God of confusion he an God of love, peace and understanding. In the Webster’s dictionary the word Deceit means falseness or deception. 2 John 1:7 (For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.) and in Matthew 7:15 (Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.)and in Matthew 24:11 (And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.) You see the word of God it doesn’t lie. 10. DULLNESS Dullness means sleepiness to the things of God. The readers of Hebrews suffered dullness They needed sound Bible teachers to bring them to they senses. Because they were dull, they could not be use by God. He states why: Hebrews 5:12-14 (For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and notof strong meat, - 13v For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. -14v But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. To suffer dullness is to forget. 11. DEADNESS Deadness means unchecked dullness. Deadness means without life or dormant. You tell how can we be dead to the things of God? We need to wake up and hear what he tells us. In Revelation 3:1 (To the leader * of the church in Sardis write this letter. This message is sent to you by the one who has the seven-fold Spirit* of God and the seven stars. Don’t be dead like the Sardis Church “ I know thy works, that thou has a name that thou livest, and are dead.)TLB. You see the book of Revelation tell us not to be dead in the things of God and if you read on it tell us to wake up and smell the coffee, that the little time remains can be save! 12. DELAY Delay is used to (a) postpone salvation; How many times we told our Lord not right now? How many times have we walked away from the things of God? How many times have we been side- track from God? How many times have we not kept our commitments? (b) postpone service to God. We as christens ask yourselves have I kept my Lords and my God commandments. We need to think real hard on that one. Psalm 119:60 (I made haste and delayed not to keep thy commandments.) 13. DISCORD Far more Bible believing churches have been split over discord that doctrine. Some trouble-maker begins his or her deadly gossip in a local church, raising questions and Doubts in minds of people, doubts that otherwise would have never been entertained. How effectively Satan uses this tool, and how painful it will be at the time of judgment seat of Christ for the carnal sowers of discord. To sow discord is to forget. Proverbs 6: 16-19 (16v These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abominations unto him: 17v A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. 18v Anheart that deviseth wicked imaginations. Feet that be swift in running to mischief. 19v a false witness that speaketh lies, and that soweth discord among brethren. |
