This is the never ending story of my life. I suppose you could get a better picture of me if you asked my mom (Jan Lange) what I was like...but please don't, that would spoil all the fun!
You know, I was always living a little on the wild side but never stepping OVER to the wild side. When I graduated from high school, I went with YWAM and took a Discipleship Training School in Cambridge, Ontario where they had the Academy of Performing Arts. I SO loved that time and getting to know more of the 'real me' that was hiding behind the laughter and craze. But even after getting to know 'me'...I found out that I was STILL crazy! Go figure...
That was when the Lord told me to continue on with my studies and he led me to Bethany College of Missions in Bloomington, MN. Ok. SHOCK! They only have 2 seasons in Minnesota....COLD or MOSQUITOES. (Can that be considered a season? HEE HEE!) Of course I thought it was great fun that we had a blizzard on Halloween but I soon discovered that the weather would last through until Easter Time. UGGG. But school and studies were good and I made a lot of international friends that I still keep in touch with. Through BCOM the Lord led me to Honduras where I met my hubby! (Of course, I was engaged when I went to Hond...but to another guy...kind of a soap opera story that we won't go into the details about now!)
So, Gus and I got married and since then we've lived in the U.S. for a few years in between our 3rd world country experiences which have included: Honduras, Mexico, Nepal and now Bolivia. We've traveled through many other countries along the way with SOOOO many adventures but you know, the Lord has been with us and He has been faithful all along the way.
In between all that we added three treasures...Micah, Zack and Caleb. They are as crazy (if not worse :o)) then Gus and I combined but it does keep us on our toes which is what I like! You know, I never knew much about ADHD until my son was diagnosed with it and then I realized that I had always had it but didn't know why I couldn't pay attention for long or had to jump up from the couch every time there was a commercial on t.v.. Or how come I'm terrible at small talk? Or meeting new people? Or staying focused when something doesn't draw to my attention.
I'm thankful that the Lord has always been my best friend in all of our travels or I don't think I would have made it. I love to look out at the moon at night and know that my friends in the U.S. can see the same moon as I can! God is good and what else can I say but that! |
