After reading Joian's recent post I was led to look up this scripture. The traditionalist will hold to this happening during or post a literal millenium. Isa 10:33 Behold, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, shall lop the bough with terror; and the lofty ones shall be cut down, and the proud shall be humbled. Isa 10:34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one
Lebanon H3844 לבנון lebânôn leb-aw-nohn' From H3825; (the) white mountain (from its snow); Lebanon, a mountain range in Palestine: - Lebanon.
H3825 לבב lebab leb-ab' (Chaldee); corresponding to H3824: - heart.
H3824לבב lêbâb lay-bawb' From H3823; the heart (as the most interior organ); used also like H3820: - + bethink themselves, breast, comfortably, courage, ([faint], [tender-] heart([-ed]), midst, mind, X unawares, understanding.
Lets try that verse again
Isa 10:34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon the heart/mind/understanding shall fall by a mighty one
Thicket H5442 סבך sebâk seb-awk' From H5440; a copse: - thick (-et).
H5440 סבך sâbak saw-bak' A primitive root; to entwine: - fold together, wrap.
Thicket is translated 3 times as such in the OT and the one that stands out is this one.
Gen 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked. And, behold, a ram behind him was entangled in a thicket by its horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
I had always imagined this as thorny briers and if you try hard enough, you can make the connection as to where I am going with this. What normally grows between the trees of the forest is essentially weeds and plant that choke and use up the resources for the trees. If the thickets that are cut down, the entangled lies of doctrines of men is cut down, the heart and mind shall fall and that leads us into the next part.
Isa 11:1 And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. Isa 11:2 And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. Isa 11:3 And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah. And He shall not judge according to the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. Isa 11:4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and shall decide with uprightness for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Isa 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His heart.
Now that literal Lebanon is out of the way, this first portion of scripture above has a whole new meaning.
Focusing on the slaying of the wicked,
Slay H4191 מוּת mûth mooth A primitive root; to die (literally or figuratively); causatively to kill: - X at all, X crying, (be) dead (body, man, one), (put to, worthy of) death, destroy (-er), (cause to, be like to, must) die, kill, necro [-mancer], X must needs, slay, X surely, X very suddenly, X in [no] wise.
And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay die for the wicked.
How one word changes the whole meaning eh? Remember “It is finished?”
Joh 19:30 Then when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up the spirit.
Luk 23:46 And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. And when He had said this, He breathed out the spirit.
Am I twisting scripture? Yes I am within the confines of the concordance only. Who is to say the translators got it right anyway?
Now even with my TWISTS, the context read true and the part up to here still prophesies of Jesus. Here is where it gets interesting. This next part can now be read as what happens after the crucifixion.
Isa 11:6 Also the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the cub lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. Jer 5:6 Therefore a lion out of the forest shall kill them, and a wolf of the deserts shall rob them; a leopard shall watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out from them shall be torn in pieces, because their sins are many and their backslidings are multiplied. Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Luk 10:3 Go! Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Joh 10:12 But he who is a hireling and not the shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away. And the wolf catches them and scatters the sheep. Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
The young lion is not who we think it resembles, but let us look at what the Leopard is.
Leopard H5246 נמר nâmêr naw-mare' From an unused root meaning properly to filtrate, that is, be limpid (compare H5247 and H5249); and thus to spot or stain as if by dripping; a leopard (from its stripes): - leopard.
leopard shall lie down with the kid a leopard shall watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out from them shall be torn in pieces, because their sins are many and their backslidings are multiplied.
To filtrate is to filter or pass through a filter, the leopard is Jesus and the kid is a small goat, the Gentiles, notice the characteristic of the leopard.
Hos 13:4 Yet I am Jehovah your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no God but Me. For there is no Savior besides Me. Hos 13:5 I have known you in the wilderness, in the land of great dryness. Hos 13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filled. They were filled and their heart was lifted up. Therefore they have forgotten Me. Hos 13:7 Therefore I will be as a lion to them; as a leopard by the way I will watch them. Hos 13:8 I will meet them like a bereaved bear, and will tear the lining of their heart. And there I will devour them like a lion; the wild beast shall tear them. Hos 13:9 O Israel, you have destroyed yourself; but in Me is your help.
Psa 91:13 You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the jackal You shall trample underfoot.
1Pe 5:8 Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour;
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
Lion H738 אריה ארי 'ărîy 'aryêh ar-ee', ar-yay' From H717 (in the sense of violence); a lion: - (young) lion, + pierce [from the margin]. H717 ארה 'ârâh aw-raw' A primitive root; to pluck: - gather, pluck.
Eat H398 אכל 'âkal aw-kal' A primitive root; to eat (literally or figuratively): - X at all, burn up, consume, devour (-er, up), dine, eat (-er, up), feed (with), food, X freely, X in . . . wise (-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, X quite.
Straw H8401 תּבן teben teh'-ben Probably from H1129; properly material, that is, (specifically) refuse haum or stalks of grain (as chopped in threshing and used for fodder): - chaff, straw, stubble.
What is an Ox? An adult castrated bull of the genus Bos, especially B. taurus, used chiefly as a draft animal.
So it’s prime purpose is modified to labor (works) according to it’s master’s will as opposed to being one to mate and seed off-spring. I sure hope you are keeping up with me.
Let’s try that verse with slightly different words.
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat devour/consume straw chaff/stubble like the ox.(modified by man to serve man’s purpose)
Can you say R E L I G I O N ?
Who is prey to the lion? Clearly the lion here is not the Lion of Judah.
1Co 3:11 For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ. 1Co 3:12 And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, 1Co 3:13 each one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is. 1Co 3:14 If anyone's work which he built remains, he shall receive a reward. 1Co 3:15 If anyone's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
Isa 11:8 And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den.
We saw earlier led by a child and here we see two mentions of a suckling child (milk) and a weaned child (meat)
Play H8173 שׁעע shâ‛a‛ shaw-ah' A primitive root; (in a good acceptation) to look upon (with complacency), that is, fondle, please or amuse (self); (in a bad one) to look about (in dismay), that is, stare. (cry out is by confusion with H7768.): - cry (out) [by confusion with H7768], dandle, delight (self), play, shut.
Hole H2352 חר חוּר chûr chûr khoor, khoor From an unused root probably meaning to bore; the crevice of a serpent; the cell of a prison: - hole.
Asp H6620 פּתן pethen peh'-then From an unused root meaning to twist; an asp (from its contortions): - adder.
the suckling child shall play look upon with complacency/please or amuse self/look about in dismay/cry out by confusion on the hole crevice of a serpent/cell of a prison of the asp twisting from contortions the adder
and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den.
Gen 49:16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Gen 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that its rider shall fall backward.
Can anyone say R E L I G I O N ?
If you view Mystery Babylon the Great, you will make the connection of RELIGION.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea.
We started off with the mountain of Lebanon and end with the Holy Mountain. Did you see the process?
I do not believe this revelation is complete yet but what I clearly see is a 2nd part to the prophesy showing how what Jesus does, becomes polluted yet survives through His will and how the weaned off the milk will fulfill this.
Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us. Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. Rom 8:20 For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but because of Him who subjected it on hope Rom 8:21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Rom 8:22 And we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

Laban, the uncle (?) for whom Jacob labored to recieve his wives, was the originator of Lebanon. Laban means white, like milk..."Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts." (Isa 28:9) Rest asssured, you're a blessing. "We are all in our places; with bright shiny faces..." ---James |
