PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!

18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Hello Family
I know I usually send the devotional from Songs 4 Worship but as I was reading the word today I came across this passage and it struck me so much that I decided to share it with you all. I know this one may not be as good as the daily devotionals but I thought i'd give it a shot.
Haven't you felt sometimes like you have prayed God's ear off and you don't seem to get your answer? I know I have! I know that I am constantly asking God to do something for me or for someone I love and ofcourse our church! The verse above doesn't have the writting in red but this is actually Jesus speaking and giving this parable. I love to read the old testament and learn about the Great men that God used like Moses, David, Elijah, and so on; however, there is something special about the New Testament and reading those precious red words that is our Savior speaking. It just gives me goose bumps each time I read!! Anyway, this parable tells us about a judge and a widow, and as you may have already read the judge doesn't believe in God nor is he a respector of man, however, the fact that this little old widow kept on nagging him for him to advenge her before those that did her wrong made the judge budge. Then comes Jesus' awesome explanation on verses 6 - 8 where He states taht even the unjust judge gave the widow what she wanted because he didn't want to listen to her nagging anymore and yet how much more do we not think our Father that loves us will give us knowing that He wants the best for us.
I want to encourage you to continue to seek God without ceasing. He loves you and He cares for you. I know it may seem like our prayers are not being heard but I think Jesus knew that we would feel this way and that is why He used this parable to remind us of our Father's goodness and love for us. And most importantly to encourage us to keep on praying and bringing those requests before the Lord!
This passage also reminded me of our long time journey of prayer as we have sought God out for the future of our church, this gives me hope that God is still in control and we need to keep on praying and seeking God out!!
