| Is Free Will Free?(2nd try) |

OK, I realize I asked a lot of questions the first time (below). Let's start again with just one: Is our "free will" the same as our "self will?"
Charlie
I know that the Bible speaks of the will of man, the will of the flesh and of course the will of God. How does all this break down? Is there a difference in the will of the flesh and the will of man? Apparently so according to Jn. 1:13. We also know there is such a thing as "self will," (which doesn't seem to be positive). I also realize that the phrase "free will" is not specifically mentioned in scripture, but IS implied through out. God seems to have a lot to say about this word, "will." Do you think "self will" is the same as free will? Do we exercise OUR WILL power in order to exercise free will? Is free will an expression of the will of man..and what's the deal with the will of the flesh?? Just how many "wills" does man have? We know God has only ONE! Wow, there's a great enigma about all this! I'd like to hear some thoughts from others. NOW, I'm not asking for doctrinal dissertations, lists of verses, or copy/pasted articles about free will. Nor do I want to rekindle the debate of election, predestination, sovereignty of God or God's foreknowledge. Can we think "outside the box" and learn from one another? So what think ye saints?
Let the fellership begin :) Charlie |
